Games of the week for 06/11/10: Bottom edition

I’ve been on a real Rik & Ade kick lately, rewatching episodes ofFilthy, Rich & CatflapandBottom. This is a clip from the last episode ofBottomin which Richie and Eddie film a viciously hilarious accident to try and win some money. They don’t make sitcoms like this anymore, and I for one think that’s very sad. Also, videogames happened this week. Hit the jump for those as usual, and do tell us what you’ve been playing as well!...

Gears of War 3 gives Anya some action in new screens

A humble offering of threeGears of War 3screenshots have appeared in the wild — not much, but we’ll take them. The new images show Anya getting down and dirty, having gone from glorified secretary to full-on asskicker. Or ballkicker, if the screen seen above is to be believed. We also get to see Marcus in his sexy new attire, rocking a summer look with a cut-off sleeve design and a light color scheme that really brings out those come-to-bed eyes....

Geometry Wars Touch now available for iPad

Technically speaking, it was available yesterday, but you weren’t going to be able to play it anyway. With how crazy things have always been on the iPod/iPhone front when it comes to games, I can’t say I’ve been looking forward to the iPad all that much. I’m thoroughly expecting a deluge of apps retouched and then marketed as being for the new device. But this is special because it’sGeometry Wars....

Getting all oiled up for Super Street Fighter IV

I’ll admit, it’s been awhile since I playedStreet Fighter IV. Don’t get me wrong, I love the game — I gave itquite a high markwhen I reviewed it back in February of last year. But as time went on and other games started to vie for my attention, my interest waned. So when Capcom announced that, just a little over a year later, it would be releasing an update calledSuper Street Fighter IV, I was a bit suspicious....

Gran Turismo 5’s visual effects trailer is lovely

When I sawGran Turismo 5in its near-finished form at E3, Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi showed us a trailer that highlighted the special visual effects that went into the game’s engine. It was so lovely that I wished everyone could see it. SCEA has just released it, and now we have it for you. In the above video you’ll see that the particles are lit so accurately that headlights will light up smoke and dust....

Following our news about theupcomingHalo 3beta test, it saddens me to tell you all there seems to be more to the process than was let on initially. Hands-on: Kerbal Space Program

July 16, 2025. Space shuttle Atlantis departs from Florida to cap off the US space program. It was a glorious, if not bittersweet moment. It left us asking: where do I go now to see super awesome rockets shoot off into space? Ah, that’s where Squad’sKerbal Space Programcomes in. It has the rockets and the space, and all you need is the drive to connect the two. It’s an open sandbox where you can assemble a ridiculous space heap, or a well thought out vessel, and see how it fares the launch....
