PS Plus gets exclusive Castlevania LoS demo for a week

There’s also a new free Premium Theme (free premium? WHAAAAAT?) for download, too. Lords of Shadowis a Kojima Productions-developed take on the classic vampire-hunting series. From what I played of it, it’s a pretty cool guy and ought to be worth checking out for fans of third-person action games. The full game’s out on October 5, and we’ll have our review coming soon, probably.

PSPgo UMD conversion not happening for ‘legal reasons’

Earlier today, it was announced that Sony was offering three of seventeen downloadable games to PSPgo upgraders who registered their older PSPs online. This seemed to hint that Sony would not be offering straight-up UMD-to-digital conversions for PSPgo owners who wanted to transfer their old game collections. Sony has now admitted that, while it was once evaluating the possibility of conversions, no such offer can be made at this time due to legal reasons....

Reading the Byron Report

As promised, I’ve been reading the Byron Report, and if you’d like to, you may do it yourself by downloading ithere. As expected, Byron’s review of the dangers of videogames and the Internet when it comes to children is level-headed and reasonable, although we’ll see how it gets twisted by other sources. Just to let you know, I didn’t spend much time with the Internet side of the review, focusing predominantly on the gaming chapters....

Red Dead Redemption GameStop pre-order bonus chosen

Good work, everyone! You made the correct choice by voting for the Deadly Assassin outfit, which is now the GameStop-exclusive pre-order bonus forRed Dead Redemption. GameStoplists the variousin-game challenges you can complete to unlock this swanky outfit, such as “win a duel in Armadillo.” Having only recently woken up, I read that as “win a duelagainstan armadillo.” Of course, that would be way too hilariously fun to be real. Then I got to thinking about that giant armadillo boss inDonkey Kong 64, which somehow reminded me what a bastard Armored Armadillo was until you obtained the electric spark....

The event will be held at the World of Wonder Gallery on Hollywood Blvd....

This review does not have a score attached to it. After playing up to the fourth chapter, I had enough of what has been among the most miserable gameplay experiences of my life. Apparently we are not the first outlet to do this either, but thisVelvet Assassinreview is written based on the amount I was able to play before seriously considering just sending the disc back to Southpeak and scrapping the review altogether....
