Konami have posted up a new Japanese job listing that appears to be the equivalent of a pedophile’s ancient van with the words “free ice cream” scrawled hastily on the side. The ad is asking for recruits to work on “new developments” in theMetal Gearseries for consoles and “portable arcades” (according toIGN). Thepage is also askingfor help in various award-winning games such asWinning Eleven,Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball, andBemani. That’s right — sweetMGStaste, then horribleBemanitorture....

Following on the success of theLego Star Warsseries, Lucasarts plans to releasePlaydoh Star War II: The Original Trilogy. Actually the game is just a photoshop, but the game idea would be cool. It looks like this limited run of 500 custom consoles is only being sent to press to generate hype, so if you’re thinking about picking one up at EB Games, you’re out of luck. Like a fair few Destructoid readers, I never warmed up to the originalLost Planet. However, the more I hear aboutLost Planet 2, the more hopeful I become. Capcom has announced today via their website the cancellation ofMega Man Universe. The Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network title, whichapplied customizable characters and stagesto the series’ core platforming gameplay, was due for release this spring. Capcom cited “various reasons” (Google translated) for the game’s cancellation but offered no further details in the brief statement. I’m not heartbroken.I was never soldon the idea of a “Little Mega Planet” game, personally, andI’m not alone on that....

Konami had been all set to publish a game for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network based upon the popular Adult Swim cartoon,Metalocalypse.Announced at Comic-Con last year, it was nowhere to be found at E3. She’s still half-naked, andX-Bladesis still looking like a shallow hack n’ slash affair. No further developments, and none needed as far as I’m concerned. Barely clothed hack n’ slash is just dandy, thank you very much. These new screens show off the different environments of Southpeak’s action game. While it might not be the most graphically impressive title out there, I am pleased by the use of more than three colors and I like the direction they’ve gone with the design....
