The demo for Ruffian Games’Crackdown 2is now available to all on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Go download it now; you don’t even have to get up and go to your Xbox 360, you lazy fool —just queue it up here. The demo is capped at 30 minutes of play time, includes “accelerated Agent leveling” (so you can start doing cooler stuff sooner) and four-player cooperative play over Xbox LIVE. And in a move that I think should be standard on all demos going forward, you’ll be able to earn Achievements in the demo that will carry over to the full game, which is in stores on July 6....

Hot off the heels of today’s hot 3DS news, Capcom has blessed the Internet with a brand new trailer and a few screens ofResident Evil: The Mercenaries. This portable expansion of everybody’s favorite bodysnatcher-killing battle royale is looking hot, and it’s definitely on my pick-up list. The 3DS has beendated for March 27 and will cost $249.99. Not a bad price for something that lets you carry HUNK in your pocket....

Insomniac’sResistance 2had some pretty stellar characters. However, I argued vehemently (with myself) that the alien Chimera managed to steal the show from the game’s human protagonist, Nathan Hale. I was pleased this morning to find that a toy company felt the same way. Corner Store Comicsis offering a wicked cheap pre-order for the above set ofR2toys by DC Unlimited. The package includes a Chimera Advanced Hybrid, a Ravager, Nathan Hale and Swarmer, as well as a Steelhead....

In an unfortunate coincidence, Colette is going to be taming wild chocobos in the heart of the South American jungle, Dyson will be tasting Pizza Rolls in every country of the world, Topher is travelingto Asia (for obvious reasons), and Rev and I are scoping out volcanoes for our battle to the deathall at the same time....

We’re back! And subsequently, so are these boobs. We seem to have Chad’s handsomepox under control, so we’re going to continue on with what would have been our topic last week: naughty retro games. Before the ESRB existed, you could get away with pretty much anything you wanted in a videogame. And believe me, people did. Nowadays, violence is okay but god help us if somebody should see a boob. There’s probably a rant bubbling up about that which will make its way into the show....

As I’ve said before, I think it’s worth us mentioning when a game gets updated — or is otherwise changed — substantially. That’s definitely the case here. Even during just the handful of levels I played through with the tweaks in place, I was having a noticeably jollier time. It sounds like it won’t be much longer forRevenge of the Titans. If you’re waiting on the Steam version, rad. Know that what’s in store will be quite a bit better than those initial builds....

Here’s my dilemma, one that I’m sure many of you can relate with: I can’t go to theRock Bandstore. Physically, I can, but knowing how many worthwhile songs are up for purchase and how impulse buying is far too easy when it comes to digital distribution, I have to avoid it. Originally set for an April 27 release date, Rockstar’sRed Dead Redemptionhas been hit with a minor delay. Publisher Take-Two Interactive announced the delay in First Quarter fiscal 2010 financial results report; the title is now set to ship in North America on July 13, 2025. The short delay comes after the recentrumors of internal developmental issues, with one source saying the title “was a complete disaster for most of 2009 and previous… it has since turned around a little bit, but there are huge problems with it still....

SCEE boss David Reevesclaims thatdevelopers don’t want to translate their games for Europe because they don’t think it’s worth the effort. There’s not enough incentive for them to translate the games during development, so that’s why we’re left waiting up to six months for something likeBrawl— the developers just don’t care. That’s right, Europe — according to Reeves, developersactuallycannot be f*cked with you. Reeves said he would “love” to have worldwide release dates for everything, but states he could only do that with the UK, and fears that if he excluded the rest of Europe, he’d upset everyone else....

Sony has revealed the first details on the forthcoming expansion,PixelJunk Monsters Encore, and as far as I’m concerned, it might as well be an entirely new game. The expansion adds one new island to the game, Toki Island, which will offer up 15 new levels, and five new musical tracks by Kyoto-based musician,Otograph. Additionally, a few tweaks have been made that will only make sense to those who have played the original; the Ice Tower is now a stock item, and the cost of the Tesla Tower has been reduced....
