Third party Wii Balance Board rears its costly head

Third-party peripheral manufacturers never miss a trick, which is why I’m surprised that we haven’t seen a whole bunch of knock-off Balance Boards yet. Regardless, here’s one for you if you just can’t get enough of front-room-surfboard action, theNjoy G-Board. Costing a princely £64.99 (about $128 US), the G-Board’s selling point is that it cuts out the middle man ofWii Fitby actually doubling as fully functional scales. Now you don’t need to rely on the voices inside Shigeru Miyamoto’s head telling you that you’re fat....

This Homefront trailer is kind of chilling

THQ released a new trailer forHomefronttoday, and I think it does exactly what they wanted it to do. I think it’s the bit with the mass graves that does the trick. Almost enough to make you shudder. If Kaos Studios keeps this up,Homefrontcould become one of 2011’s first really memorable experiences. I’m certainly pulling for it, as you don’t often get such a bold scenario out of a videogame. Crossing my fingers that the promising narrative isn’t too sidelined by the multiplayer....

Toys ‘R’ Us gets a PlayStation Move EyePet Bundle

There’s another PlayStation Move bundle already on shelves, but it’s not as cute as this one. Retailer Toys ‘R’ Us gets this limited edition PlayStation Move EyePet Bundle for $99.99. The PlayStation Blog says it comes with the EyePet game, PlayStation Eye camera, and a PlayStation Move Motion Controller. It’s just really replacing the sports title with EyePet. You’ll hear no complaints here! I’ve played with EyePet and Move together, and was pretty amazed by all the cute things you could do with the combo....

Online play has become one of the most essential features in this generation of gaming. Wii-port on a Wii port: The Godfather

The above video demonstrates the Wiimote implementation inThe Godfather: Blackhand Edition, which is just a longer way of sayingWii Godfather. And while one of my biggest gripes with the Wii is its inefficiency in handling ports from other consoles, I have to admit that (if this video is any indication) EA looks to be on the right track.Surprisingly, the damn thing looks pretty fun. Granted, there are about half a dozen times when the playtester makes a gesture and the game doesn’t recognize it, and it’s disappointing that the driving is handled through the analog stick instead of gestures (asCoD 3andWarioWare: Smooth Movesexecuted so well) but you’ve gotta admit that this looks to be a much better port than, say,Splinter Cell....

You Don’t Know Jack ESRB rating holds promise

The ESRB has posted a rating for the upcoming relaunch of the classic party trivia gameYou Don’t Know Jackrumored to be published by THQ. The game, which will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii has received a “T” rating by the board for “Crude Humor, Drug Reference, Language, Mild Blood,” and, “Sexual Themes.” That sounds about right to me. I do believe I have played every singleYou Don’t Know Jackrelease on PC, often forcing unwitting guests in my home to play along upon threat of bodily harm....

ZBluCops brings French comic to life on the Wii

I have never heard ofBiodroid Productions(or, for that matter,ZBluCops) until this morning, but let me assure you, as soon as I saw the sentence “ZbluCopsis an action/adventure game that aims to bring back to videogames the humour characteristic of the 90’s adventure games” on their webpage, I sat up and took notice fast. The game is exclusively for Wii and adapted from the French comic, which places you in a classic good versus evil scenerio where a team of ZBluCops takes on an evil meglomaniac and his team of baddies hellbent on destroying the town of ZBluville....
