Zone of the Enders, now in action figure form

The fine folks at Revoltech have revealed abrand new figurethat I’m certain many people have wanted to see for a long time — aZone of the EndersJehuty. Zone of the Endersis a PlayStation 2 franchise created by Hideo Kojima, one that’s earned itself a rather substantial cult following. It’s about big mechs shooting each other in the sky. Not a lot of merchandise has ever been released for it (a few garage kits), so seeing the respected Revoltech take on a Jehuty is pretty cool news....

Argentine reporter reports on the abuse of grog by teenagers

Hold on to your copy ofBrain Ageboys and girls, because we are about to get really stupid up in here. Any self respecting gamer knows what grog is, but for those non-self respecting gamers out there I’ll fill you in. Grog is the made up drink that the pirates inMonkey Islanddrink. Its absolutely ludicrous ingredients are in fact one of the first things you’re able to learn in the game. The ingredients are so over the top that there is no way anyone could possibly think the drink… is… rea…...

Artwork from canceled Legacy of Kain pop up

Here is an interesting curio for anybody who counts himself a fan of theLegacy of Kainseries. The attached gallery shows off some artwork from the canceledLegacy of Kainsequel, including some environment screens. The screens have been posted by artistAaron Hausmann, whose shipped work includesLuxor 3,25 to LifeandSin: Emergence. He has also done work onMedal of Honor: Airborne. It’s a shame that the game got canceled. I was never a huge fan of theKaingames, but I think current-gen systems are due a title starring the arrogant vampire git....

Australian ratings turn ‘middle class into criminals’

We all know by now that Australia is severely lagging behind the times thanks to its archaic rating system that refuses to rate games intended for audiences of eighteen and over. 15+ is the highest rating a game can receive from Australia’s OFLC, and anything deemed too mature will need to be edited or face a ban. This is all thanks to one man, South Australia Attorney General Michael Atkinson, who has been called out by an Australian critic for his refusal to change the rules....

Bad Company 2’s ‘Onslaught’ mode priced and dated

When the impending four-person“Onslaught” modewasfirst announcedforBattlefield: Bad Company 2, we got most of the basic details down — except for “when?” and “how much?” We now have those too. DICE informs usthis add-on will be downloadable starting on Tuesday, June 22 for both PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE alike at a cost of $9.99. Seems reasonable, although I’m not entirely sure it’s enough to get me back intoBad Company 2. We shall see....

I’veloved playing in theBlurmultiplayer beta/demo, but the time is swiftly coming for that chapter to come to a close so that the actual game will appear on store shelves. Capcom on Dead Rising Wii: Yes, we like money

Capcom US has always struck me as a company that doesn’t really take any crap from fanboys. Ever since it mocked PS3 wingnuts overDevil May Cry 4coming to the Xbox 360, the publisher’s STFUAJPG mentality is one I’ve come to respect. It’s not limited to PS3 fans either, as Xbox 360 lovershave come under firefor moaning aboutDead Rising‘s Wii debut. “Whenever a game gets brought from one console to another — whether it’s a port or, in the case ofDead Rising: Chop till You Drop(DR:CTYD), a complete reworking of the original — the Internet gets riled up,” explains a Capcom rep....

Check out what I got in the mail yesterday

As a general rule, I don’t check for mail sent to my apartment. I’ve always kept my parent’s address as the location for any bills that I couldn’t have handled via e-mail (of which I have none at this point). Before living with someone who actually received correspondence from people, it was not unlikely for six months to pass before I bothered to check for anything. Late last night, I was reminded of some mail on its way and dutifully trundled out to the mailbox to see if it had arrived when I came across this curious item....

Child drives car: VIDEOGAMES TO BLAME!

Purehilaritycoming out of Muncie today. A 7-year old stole his grandfather’s SUV and drove it around town before finally crashing the vehicle at an Outback Steakhouse. 43-year old Matthew Sands followed the red Geo Tracker down Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard after noting that he was “awful small to be driving.” The boy eventually stopped at the steak house after Sands blocked his path and the pint-sized joyrider had no option but to crash into a tree....
