Silent Hill: Book of Memories trailer concerns me

I’m usually against the guy that’s resistant to change, but I don’t love where Konami is letting theSilent Hillfranchise go to. Here’s what Tomm Hulett, Senior Associate Producer for upcoming PS Vita gameSilent Hill: Book of Memories, says in this new trailer for the game: Book of Memoriesis a big departure for the series, focusing on cooperative multiplayer action rather than traditional psychological horror. That sentence alone is scarier than any horror moment in any of the franchise games....

Six Days in Fallujah could still get a publisher

Six Days in Fallujahmay get another publisher. Atomic Games head honcho Peter Tamte recently toldNewsweekthat the game has garnered some interest since being dropped by Konamias a result of phone calls and possibly more than one nasty electronic mail. (Whoops.) “We have a lot of people who are interested in the project,” Tamte said “But I’ll feel better when we sign something and the checks start coming.” It appears as though Atomic Games desperately needs those checks....

Size does matter: Project Gotham Racing 4 is too big for DVD

Microsoft took some criticism in the beginning of the Xbox 360’s life because of their choice to continue to support the standard DVD format for their game titles. They defended themselves saying that the DVD storage medium was more than enough space for upcoming games with their new compression techniques, but now it seems that the format’s limitations have causes a negative effect on one Xbox 360 title. Bizarre Creation says that the DVD format is too small to fit all of the features they wanted to include inProject Gotham Racing 4....

Sony UK to cut up to 160 jobs

An anonymous employee of Sony UK sent us an e-mail that states that up to 160 jobs are planned to be cut from SCE UK, SCEE Central, SCE Cambridge, and SCE London. The move is being made to streamline the company due to the fact that “our industry is in the middle of a period of transition where some of the fundamentals of our business are changing.” The e-mail goes on to say that they’ll be going over with each employee whether they’re “at risk” for firing or not, and that they’ll go on to talk with the employee more if they’re at risk....

Spoiler alert: Talking God of War III with Stig Asmussen

No secret, I likedGod of War III, andlooking at Metacritic, it seems I wasn’t alone. The PlayStation 3 exclusive that’s said to wrap up the long-running trilogy is kind of a big deal. So when I had a chance to speak with the game’s director, Stig Asmussen, at GDC last month, all I wanted to talk about is what happened from the moment I pressed start to the moment the credits rolled....

TGS: Final Fantasy Legends (mobile)

When I first heard aboutFinal Fantasy Legends, I wasn’t at Tokyo Game Show. I was on the train. There was a little billboard for the game, which sort of blew my mind. I’m sure that sort of thing is normal for citizens of Tokyo, but I’m still getting used to seeing advertising for cell phone games in public places. As for the game, it looks a lot likeFinal Fantasy 4: The After....

TGS: Yakuza Of The End shows shooting, zombies, silliness

I know I read thatthe nextYakuzagame was azombiegame, but every time I tried to process that information, my mind blanked out, unable to even comprehend the concept. Now that I’ve seen Sega’s TGS presentation thereof, I’ve retained enough coherence to type this post, aided by the trailer you see above. For starters, the game is still set in iconic Kamuro-cho (a fictional version of Tokyo’s Kabuki-cho nightlife district), though now it’s mostly ruined thanks to an outbreak of the living dead....
