Titan Studios’Fat Princesswas released this week and, server issues aside, it’s great fun. You might have heard that Microsoft busted the 40 million mark in March. Silent Hillseries composer Akira Yamaokahas admittedthat he feels Japanese game development is in trouble when compared to the advances of American technology. Nvidia seems to think that Quantic Dream’s latest interactive storytelling adventure isn’t a PS3 exclusive. They have the title listed as one of the games “current and upcoming” which can take advantage of their video cards’ PhysX GPU-acceleration features. Of course, we can’t say with any certainty whether or notHeavy Rainis going to be available for PCs, but it makes perfect sense to me. Adventure games might not be the craze they were when I was a kid, but there’s still a market for them and a game that is as ambitious asHeavy Raincould very well find success there....

I think aPikminDS game would work out pretty well. It’s not that hard to imagine, right? And it seems like Shigefumi Hino, project leader of the originalPikmingame has thought about it before, too. The most recent issue ofEDGE Magazinehas an interesting full-page adon one of its pages. Yea, that’s part of it above. What’s so interesting about a bunch of grass? Well for one it’s in a gaming magazine so we can assume it’s not for lawn fertilizer. Secondly, on the bottom of the page it says next month with the nextEDGEissue number on it and finally it has a purple blob in the top right corner that looks like a Pikmin....

While this isn’t a formal cancellation, it’s certainly a bad sign for the game formally known asAssassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy. According to this recent interview with Joystiq, “You may have heard of the game ‘Lost Legacy‘ for the 3DS. It was announced, but that kind of morphed into this idea,” referring to upcoming PS3/360 titleAssassin’s Creed: Revelations. That doesn’t mean thatAssassin’s Creedwon’t make it to the 3DS at some point....

Darn, Nintendo sure is talented at offering system colors I dig in regions I’m not a part of. On July 14, Japan is getting the “Flare Red” 3DS, which some of you are bound to hate. I’m quite fond of the design, myself. As it so happens, this release will coincide with the Japanese launch ofStar Fox 64 3D. Here’s the painful part about that for us North Americans: we aren’t getting the game until September....
