Fatal Frame 3DS spin-off uses system camera

Shinrei Shashin, orSpirit Photo, was revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu, though no release date was given. The Fatal Frame team is working on this 3DS title that uses the system’s camera in the Ghost Camera mode to take your “spirit picture” and pit it against other spirits (other people’s faces). First trailer for id’s Rage: needs more Cyberdemons

Admidst a flurry of announcements at today’s QuakeCon, id software revealed their brand-new IP,Rage. Apparently the game is set to be a departure of sorts from their previous work, in that driving features heavily, and blowing stuff up is almost a secondary objective. With the lack of cybernetic, psuedo-religious ultra-violence, willRagestill captivate asDOOMandQUAKEhave in the past? Whatever the end result, the tech — id’s brand-new id Tech 5 Engine — behind this thing looks sexier than Jesus sodomizing a Large Hadron Collider....

Flame bait from game designers who say ‘F**k Halo’

David Jaffe’s blogJaffe’s Game Designis always an entertaining read, but the responses to a recent post should prove to beveryentertaining in the coming days. After that, we expect a steady decline in response post quality. You see, Jaffe ran a instant message log from a conversation between Adam Orth (a game designer who worked onTwisted Metal:Black, Calling All Cars, and some of theMedal of Honorgames) and himself. And yes, in that conversation, Orth said “f**k Halo....

Forbidden Terror to be a Wiiware title…if the price is right?

If you squint hard enough, you might mistake this game for a futuristicResident Evilgame, but it’s actually just a tech demo developed by Emergent Technologies, as one of the Editors fromSiliconerafound out. As the screen suggests,Forbidden Terror(as it is called) is your typical zombie shooter with a twist: players share a single life bar, and the undead have a penchant for keeping their internal organs, well… internal. While reloading his gun in between zombie killing, Spencer noticed that those brain-eaters were stopping to tuck their intestines back in — an amusing touch, he commented....

Hellkid runs of his own accord, and it’s up to you to jump by tapping the screen. Keeping your finger held will extend Hellkid’s arm to grab things that can be swung from....
