Persona 3 Portable video preview in a Junpei hat

Before you click play know that I was not blessed with the correct type of face/head to wear a ballcap. It just doesn’t work — I’ve tried, especially when being beat down by the hot summer sun. But it’s not worth it. I look stupid. That’s a shame because upcoming PSP RPGPersona 3 Portablecomes with a nice cap that looks just like the one Junpei wears in the game. I figured the least I could do is at least put it on during my video preview of the game to show you what you’re getting....

Pikachu can see your insides: Pokemon X-ray machine

Mobile X-ray machines are scary to Japanese children, I guess. But Pokemon aren’t. So that’s why Japanese company Shimadzu has created a Pokemon-themed X-ray machine, using art from the gamePokemon Diamond and Pearl. Being shown off at places like Image Synthesis Exhibition 2009, Shimadzu Corp’s would likely be used on infants who probably can’t even recognize Pokemon, let alone know what the hell an X-ray machine is doing to them. But Shimadzu’spress release(Japanese) says that the images of Pikachu and pals should ease their fear....

Playing tag in Driver: San Francisco

I’ve played everyDrivergame since the original yet I’ve never actually beaten any of them. I stopped playing each one shortly after the beginning levels because the series seemed to always end up competing with my preferred choice in vehicle carnage, theGrand Theft Autoseries. Except the originalDriver. I stopped playing that because I couldn’t even complete the horrible tutorial stage. So needless to say, I’ve been interested inDriver: San Franciscosince it was announced if only to keep up the tradition of saying I’ve played everyDrivergame ever made....

PlayStation Network Update: They can’t all be winners edition

You can’t always be “on,” right? Everyone has to take a break sometime, and this week it seems that the people at the PlayStation Network Content Making Headquarters (or whatever it’s called) have their feet up on their desks, eating Cheez-its and watching YouTube clips. We’re kind of jazzed aboutBurnout Paradise(764mb), but it sucks that the demo is the only playable item available in this week’s update. There’s a huge list of downloadable content available this week....

Predict Britney Spears’ death to win a PS3? Also, leave your dignity at the door

You know you can always rely on the internet for all variations of tastelessness, and in this case it doesn’t disappoint. When is Britney going to Diebasically gives you the option to guess what day Britney Spears will die. Prepare yourselves for a Zombie Massacre on the Wii

One thing I have always considered is the fact that there are surprisingly few solid zombie-based videogames on the market. Sure, we haveResident EvilandDead RisingwithLeft 4 Deadcoming, but you’d think that zombies would be a very overused gaming cliche’ by now and I honestly don’t feel we have enough undead in our games. This is why my ears always prick up like fleshy meerkats when I hear ofa new zombie IP on the horizon....

Preview: Fancy Pants Adventures

When Brad Borne firstannouncedback in November that his successful Flash seriesFancy Pants Adventureswould be coming to consoles, a myriad of thoughts arose in my mind. Thefirst two gameslent themselves well to the Flash medium and, despite their rather plain artistic style, garnered a tremendous amount of praise for their unique momentum-based gameplay mechanic and fun and inventive level design. The simplistic look of the game alone, however, may have been enough to question why EA chose to showcase this as part of their small but growing collection of2D console games....

Prince on Guitar Hero: ‘Oh’

My love for Prince knows no bounds. A brilliant musician and songwriter, the man’s body of work is as impressive as he is small. And strange. His 1987 record,Sign O’ The Times, is one of my favorite albums… ever. So to say I want some Prince in eitherRock BandorGuitar Herois an understatement. Earlier today, a friend of mine told me that radio talk show hostTavis Smileywas interviewing the little purple genius....
