I was only about half conscious when they announced this earlier today, but thePenny Arcadeguys have decided to bringtheir upcoming gameto the Xbox Live Arcade early next year. To recap, that brings the total number of platforms for the Cthulhu-punk-cartoon-beat-em-up-role-player to a grand total of four platforms: XBL, PC, Mac OS X and Linux. They have yet to announce any pricing details or exactly how they’re going to put a game this large on a system known for its size limitations, but we assume they have some idea....

Before you click play know that I was not blessed with the correct type of face/head to wear a ballcap. It just doesn’t work — I’ve tried, especially when being beat down by the hot summer sun. Mobile X-ray machines are scary to Japanese children, I guess. But Pokemon aren’t. So that’s why Japanese company Shimadzu has created a Pokemon-themed X-ray machine, using art from the gamePokemon Diamond and Pearl. Being shown off at places like Image Synthesis Exhibition 2009, Shimadzu Corp’s would likely be used on infants who probably can’t even recognize Pokemon, let alone know what the hell an X-ray machine is doing to them. But Shimadzu’spress release(Japanese) says that the images of Pikachu and pals should ease their fear....

I’ve played everyDrivergame since the original yet I’ve never actually beaten any of them. I stopped playing each one shortly after the beginning levels because the series seemed to always end up competing with my preferred choice in vehicle carnage, theGrand Theft Autoseries. Except the originalDriver. I stopped playing that because I couldn’t even complete the horrible tutorial stage. Everyone has to take a break sometime, and this week it seems that the people at the PlayStation Network Content Making Headquarters (or whatever it’s called) have their feet up on their desks, eating Cheez-its and watching YouTube clips. One thing I have always considered is the fact that there are surprisingly few solid zombie-based videogames on the market. Sure, we haveResident EvilandDead RisingwithLeft 4 Deadcoming, but you’d think that zombies would be a very overused gaming cliche’ by now and I honestly don’t feel we have enough undead in our games. When Brad Borne firstannouncedback in November that his successful Flash seriesFancy Pants Adventureswould be coming to consoles, a myriad of thoughts arose in my mind. Thefirst two gameslent themselves well to the Flash medium and, despite their rather plain artistic style, garnered a tremendous amount of praise for their unique momentum-based gameplay mechanic and fun and inventive level design. The simplistic look of the game alone, however, may have been enough to question why EA chose to showcase this as part of their small but growing collection of2D console games....
