Awakenedhas caught some eyes since Phosphor Games rose from the ashes of Midway and turned a canceled game into a living, breathing project. The game is about creating your own protagonist with unique super powers, and it’s already captured our imagination. There’s no denying the ambition on display. Many outlets have contacted Phosphor to know more, but Destructoid has the scoop. We were very lucky to chat with the team about their new game, as well as nab a selection of the latest screenshots....

We all knew it was coming (though many of us lamented it), but today Take-Two hasofficially announcedthat work on aBioShocksequel is underway. It is currently planned for release in Q4 of 2009. Nothing has been announced as far as plotline goes, although many people are expecting a prequel that shows the downfall of Rapture. Furthermore, no specific platform has been specified as of yet, so we don’t know ifBioShockwill remain a PC/Xbox 360 exclusive or if the PS3 will get a piece of the action this time around....

Well, looks likethe rumorhas finally been confirmed. For all of you who have been chomping at the bit to get a new Xbox 360, but were just a few dollars short, Microsoft is dropping the price on the 360 Pro (20 GB) by $50 on Sunday the 13th in most major retailers. Now at $299, the console will be within arm’s reach of the Wii’s $250 price point. Here’s the tell-tale proofin the gallery....

Brash Entertainment, a publisher specializing in movie-to-game licenses, is experiencing quite the financial problem. According to aVarietyreport, Brash has tossed 20 staff members and could be cashing in on licenses to make up for its financial woes. Among the estimated dead is Factor 5’s unannouncedSupermantitle. In a statement Brash would only commit to having two titles in the works since the layoffs,Six Flags: Fun ParkandSaw. That leaves a ton of games (reportedly around forty) flapping in the financial breeze....

Bungie is looking for a new Lead Writer, somebody to manage a team of writers, blah blah blah. If you’ve got a lot of experience and such, well, maybe they’ll hire you. That’s not the interesting bit about the position. One of the things mentioned specifically as “a plus” is experience with “branching or non-linear narrative.” Now that would be something really different from what I’ve come to expect from Bungie....

Fresh on the heels of Sony’s surprise announcement thatWarhawkwould be offered with a limited-time discount ($29 until 4/15), comes the official release date for the game’s latest expansion pack,Operation: Broken Mirror.According to Sony’sblog, the pack will be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store on April 17th, and will set you back $7.99. Not many would likenDante’s InfernotoDuck Hunt. The brutal action title set in the underbelly of Hell has neither ducks, laughing dogs or even the color blue. But we do compare it to theGod of War. It’s only natural, of course: both titles deliver plenty of brown and buckets — nay,barrels— full of gore. While seemingly annoying, it appears as though this comparison doesn’t irk theDanteteam. In fact, they consider it a compliment if producer Jonathan Knight does indeed speak for the whole team....
