Besides the fact thatwe knowa portable version ofGuitar Herowill be making its way to the Nintendo DS, we really know little else. Red Octane’s Charles Huang had insinuated that the game might take advantage of a peripheral, but clearlythat’s not necessaryfor a portableGuitar Heroexperience. Some new information has come to light, and unfortunately, it may just be the game’s name.Trademork.comhas uncovered a Activision’strademark filingfor “Guitar Hero On Tour,” which really could be anything....

Hands-on with Rock Band drums for the Wii

I’ve been aggressively pounding on a fake drum kit sinceRock Bandhit the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last November. It’s great.I love it. I’m a total freakin’ rock star. Now Wii owners can finally get some of these groupies off my back, when the game hits store shelves at last on June 22. Our preview kit arrived in the “office” last week, and I’ve been spending some quality time with the Wii port of the game and its peripherals....

Heads up: BioShock Infinite gameplay video next week

Clear your schedule for Tuesday, September 21 — that’s the day you’ll finally get a chance to see Irrational Games’BioShock Infinitein action. The footage will make its debut on Xbox LIVE and Xbox.com that day, and “September 22 elsewhere online.” Not sure what that last bit really means, since “elsewhere online” will have already probably run the footage via those other two sources. I mean, that’s our plan — we’ll let you know as soon as it’s available to see, and point you in the right direction....

Home licensed publisher list lacks Take-Two, Home needs more BioShock

I think aBioShocktheme park would be a wonderful addition to Sony’sHome. It could be like the Red Bull area, except the objective is to crash the plane and enter into a new space called “The World of Rapture.” It could include a Big Daddy rollercoaster, a Slave Obeys lounge, or an ornate hall festooned with morbid art of dead avatars. The possibilities are only limited by man’s nature. Unfortunately, aBioShocktheme park is nowhere on the horizon....

How to not look like an idiot inTeam Fortress 2: the Spy

This is our second-to-last “How to not look like an idiot inTeam Fortress 2” article, and that can only mean one thing; The Orange Boxcomes out tomorrow. Thus far, we’ve tackled every class but one — the Spy. My personal favorite amongst the classes, the Spy relies far more on cunning and strategy than simple firepower. He can turn invisible, disguise himself as the enemy, electrically sap engineer structures, and instantly kill any enemy with a stab to the back — in other words, he’s the perfect class for cowards and manipulative jerks....

Japan: PS3 sales closing in on Wii?

Much like yours truly working the Destructoid morning shift, the PlayStation 3 is proving to be a slow starter when it comes to sales. According to Japanese publisher Enterbrain, the PS3 is slowly but surely closing the gap, coming up behind the Nintendo Wii in monthly sales. Sure, the Wii is outsellling the PS3 two-to-one, but back in June the ratio was more like six-to-one. This makes the fourth month in a row where the PS3 has increased in sales....

Killzone 3 goes to the jungle in new trailer

Sony released a new trailer forKillzone 3(well, it’s a few days old, but we missed it so shut up!). This one details the Infiltrator class, and also shows off the “Kaznan Jungle” multiplayer map. Seriously, anybody who says the game is just “brown and grey” after stepping into the jungle is talking out of their arsehole. Our review for the game will drop next week, and I cannot wait to finally talk about it in detail....

Knights Contract gone gold, out February 22

Namco Bandai has announced that its violent action game,Knights Contract, has gone gold in time for its February 22 release date. Yay violence! The game’s been a bit quiet lately, but I’m somewhat looking forward to it, Namco’s had a nice run ofpretty decentoriginal titleslately, so I’m hoping for good things with this. Plus, I have plenty of time for this sort of senseless action game, so count me in!...
