Demos have been something that Nintendo hasn’t done well with. WiiWare and DSiWare has had the occasional demo for its games, but nothing that consistent, and demos disappeared after a while. The morning, Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed that the 3DS eShop will have plenty of demos for both retail and downloadable games. I gotta say, welcome to 2005, Nintendo! Here’s hoping the demos aren’t taken down after a few months, so new 3DS converts can still try out some demos of old games....

EA2D was the studio responsible forDragon Age LegendsandMirror’s Edge 2D. They were originally founded to make casual and browser games. We just wanted to let you know that they are now a BioWare joint as they have been renamed BioWare San Francisco. You know, so you can keep up on the water cooler talk and all. Gamasutra says that BioWare SF is now the fifth studio under EA to carry the BioWare name....

Yesterday, I led a war band of UK Destructoid members to Wembley Stadium for Play.com’s “Live” event. The day was an absolute flop, but an unannounced extra was at the show and proved to be a highlight — a walkthrough demo forFar Cry 2with the team. The demo, in which designer Peter Redding attempted to show us the game in action before the PC crashed (seriously, poor guys), showed off the 50 square kilometer game world....

Firstteased at TGS, aFist of the North Stargame has now been officially unveiled and givenscant detailsby Tecmo Koei. The game, based upon the post-apocalyptic Manga, is heading to PS3 and Xbox 360 next year. Judging by its name, however, it seems the game won’t ship in a form that you expect. In Japan, it’s be known asHokuto Musou. Fans of theDynasty Warriorsseries will know that “Musou” means “Warriors” and titles in the series are known asShinSanguo Musouin Japan....

Nibris — the folks behind the missing-in-action Wii title Sadness — has announced it’s adding another game to its stable of titles,Egyptian Dental Fairfor the Nintendo DS. Available this fall,Egyptian Dental Fairis said to be a collection of 30 games that will not only educate gamers on ancient Egypt, but on the early history of dentistry. Players step into the shoes of a variety of historical figures, including Cleopatra, Tutankhamen, and more as they use the Nintendo DS touch screen to clean and pull teeth in what Nibris is calling “wacky oral-themed adventures....

Evidently, Gamepro Australia may have accepted an undisclosed (but assumedly large) sum of money in return for printing a negative review ofSupreme Commander, the newest RTS game from Gas Powered Games. Electronic Arts is releasingCommand and Conquer 3: Tiberium Warsat the end of the month.Supreme Commanderis out now. Since EA isn’t exactly known for its generosity, and sinceC&C 3would essentially be their flagship RTS title, it’s not inconcievable that the ubiquitous corporation would bribe Gamepro into givingSupreme Commandera 50/100 just to divert attention from Gas Powered’s RTS to their own....

I have been doped up on pain meds all day so I am in no fit state to go looking for a video that nobody ever asked to watch. to get this done so I can go and pass out, I have decided this week to instead just post a picture of a sea anemone. There it is. Isn’t it wonderful? Great. Speaking of sea creatures, videogames were played this week....

At gamescom this weekStreet Fighter x Tekkenwas on show all over the hizzy. Case in point is this live action battle between Ryu fromStreet Fighterand Kazuya fromTekkenthat 1Up caught on tape. To tell the truth the fight is sub-par, but the crossdressing game producer is 100 percent fabulous. That’s right, if you sit through the smoke and mistimed kicks you’ll get to see producer Yoshinori Ono dressed as Chun-Li join the fray....

There’s a relatively small and yet very important panel about to start that Microsoft is hosting and Geoff Keighley is running that will take a look at RPGs and their impact and place in the world. Since only a small number of gaming outlets are even allowed in this thing, I thought I’d share the experience with the people of Destructoid.
