The PlayStation 3 controller keypad will not be available in North America until December. The reason for the delay is unknown, but the wait won’t be much longer than we already expected. Whenannounced at Leipzig, the suggested release date for North America was “late November.” The information comes from Sony’s vice president of sales Ian Jackson during an engagement at the BMO Capital Markets Interactive Entertainment Conference. Somehow an enthusiast press member was able to stay awake long enough to record this information....

One day, Sony is going to tell a story and then keep that story straight. Until that momentous day, here is news from theSony Blogtelling everyone that, contrary to earlier statements, the PSP 3000’s battery life is equivalent to that of the current PSP models. It has come to light that a number of Xbox Live accountshave faced punishmentfor boosting their gamerscores through nefarious means. In a most cruel form of justice, those caught unlocking achievements without actually playing games properly have had their scores reset to zero. Major Nelson explains what his team has been up to in dealing with the “most serious offenders” who have been flagged: The steps today takes the form of the following: • Resetting the entire Gamerscore for an account to zero• The account will be unable to regain all previously obtained achievements and Gamerscore, however, the players will have the ability to gain future Achievements by earning them fairly, like the majority of the Xbox LIVE community does....

SEGA has revealed that it has several “projects” in the works to commemorate the anniversary of two well-known franchises —Sonic the HedgehogandPuyo Puyo. Both games turn 20 this year, and SEGA aims to celebrate both birthdays. Of Sonic, SEGA has already confirmed it has “two or three” games in the works, one of which will undoubtedly beSonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2. Yesterday, many websites reported that Sony had sold 4.1 million PlayStation Move units. Destructoid and a handful of others reported that Sonyhad onlyshippedthat many units. A few commenters accused us of BIAS but the egg was on their faces when Sony itself clarified the issue. However, while shipping figures are far less impressive than sales figures, Sony is trying to spin it into a positive. “While we don’t disclose our exact sell-through number, the key is that our retailers continue to ask for more Move units and are taking every unit we can supply them with based on their sales,” says Sony in itsclarifying statement....
