Sony: ‘The PSP has life left in it yet’

I’m not one that needs convincing. I amalwaysplaying new PSP games. Regardless of the number of releases or sales data, there’s still this odd air around Sony’s first portable. People like to dump on it. I don’t care. I’m done being the PSP’s champion. I’ll just continue quietly playing all my beloved portables while the internet bickers endlessly. The PSP’s worth comes into question again with the new rumors of a successor going around lately....

Soundtrack for NHL 2K9 officially revealed…three days after its release date

I hope you folks like adrenaline in your sports games, because 2K Sports has made sure to inject plenty of it intoNHL 2K9. How so? The soundtrack, of course. With fourteen tracks — many of them from old-school punk bands like NoFX and Bad Religion —NHL 2K9brings back memories of a simpler time, before emo was an entire culture (as opposed to a mere sub-genre of music). What’s somewhat strange is that I received the post-jump press release (check it out for the full tracklist) announcing the songs today, but the game hit stores on Tuesday, September 9th....

[Update:Square Enix has indeed confirmed that Army Corps won’t demand a memory card, so the conspiracy theories can be laid to rest. The trouble arose from a note on the box, which stated that a memory card would be required — a memory card that Sony will be selling forsilly amounts of money....

TGS: Quick hands-on with Sonic Generations on the 3DS

First things first:Sonic Generationsis okay with the 3D on. Not the greatest, but doesn’t hurt your eyes. As for gameplay, it’s just like the big console versions. You run around and either you may do cool attacks with new Sonic or you’ll just simply be running around with old Sonic. I checked out both Mushroom Hill Zones based onSonic & Knucklesand the level was looking really pretty. No clue about the music, but I will flip tables over at Sega if the music isn’t like the one from the original Genesis games....
