Live the dream with PDP’s Rock Band ‘Interactive Light and Smoke Stage Show’

Just when we thought we had seen it all, eagle-eyedDtoider Guitaratomikhas unearthed what will surely take home 2008s “Most Unnecessary in Gaming” award — the “Rock Band Stage Kit.” Thelisting found on GameStop.comhas since been stripped of its image (and contains no real information), but Guitaratomik was fast like a puma, and was able to snag the above screencap. Good thing, too, because there’s no way anyone would have believed that the “stage kit” was actually an “Interactive Light and Stage Show....

Lollipop Chainsaw looks how its name sounds

Suda51. James Gunn. A cheerleader. Zombies. A chainsaw. Sold. I didn’t need all that much to convince me thatLollipop Chainsawwas a game after my own heart. But after seeing this trailer, I’m completely sold.Lollipop Chainsawtells the tale of Juliet Starling, a zombie hunting cheerleader who has to fend off an undead outbreak that’s overrun her school. Stupid? Certainly. But as far as I’m concerned, it’s a stupid concept in all of the right ways....

Sweaty controllers aplenty! Breaking a Wii-sweat is no longer only for overweight, sedentary gamers as a Canadian health club adds Nintendo’s Wii to its workout circuit. You’ve definitely seen it – we know you’ve seen the guy who has to wipe his brow with a towel after 2 frames of Wii bowling. It’s a bit sad and even more gross, but you know that the Wii is making people move and is burning off calories....

Mario is for guys in their fifties

It’s not uncommon for people to say that Nintendo only makes games for kids, and that the Mario games in particular are kid-only experiences. Miyamoto: Mario Galaxy 2 is for ‘veteran gamers’

Nintendo loves to convince embittered and cynical “hardcore” gamers that they haven’t changed, and nobody wants to claim that he’s still “cool” more than lovable mentalcase Shigeru Miyamoto. If you were worried thatSuper Mario Galaxy 2wouldn’t be “hardcore” enough for you (and let’s face it, you weren’t), Miyamoto is here to put such fears to rest. “I do believe that there is a lot here to appeal to the more veteran and more experienced gamers,”he explains, “and I think it’s a title that they will obviously enjoy, but I really took it into consideration and tried to do our best to create a game that’s accessible to new gamers as well....

Mytran Wars screens show large robots and aliens

Today Deep Silver released a bunch of screenshots for their upcoming PlayStation Portable titleMytran Wars. It appears to be a cute little turn-based strategy title. I haven’t had the pleasure of checking it out before now, but I’m sure it’s great since it has my three favorite things in the world (that aren’t drugs): mechs, aliens and Coldstone Creamery’s Sans Fat ice cream. The game is based in the 23rd century where great scientists have figured out a way to build large, bipedal machines that men can drive....

N+ getting a worldwide release after all

We’ve just had an e-mail from none other than theoriginal developersofNthemselves, telling us that despiteEurogamer’s recent reportthatN+is going to be a US-only release, the game is actually set to leap around avoiding laser turrents worldwide when it is released on DS, PSP and Xbox Live Arcade later in the year. It seems a strange reversal, seeing as the original news apparently came from Atari, but at the moment it seems the rest of the world can breathe easy and be thankful....
