Neckbeard creates 3D printer in Minecraft

Minecraftis probably the single most successful indie game ever made. It has sold almost3 million copies, and it isn’t even out yet. It’s success is well-earned, though. Mojang created a remarkably simple tool set and let players run wild. We’ve already seen afully functional computer, loads ofpixel artandeven the planet earth. Now we have yet another example of obscenely imaginative people with perhaps a tad too much time on their hands....

New Woot shirt presents the original Sonic the Hedgehog

Buying a shirt from Woot appears to be a gambling game which you rarely ever win — the designs are just so awesome that each new product seems to be sold out within minutes. That’s why I did the smart thing and ordered this shirtbeforewriting this article. Now that I havea Sonic-themed shirtsafely secured, I don’t mind telling the rest of you about it. As istypical of Woot’s designs, this one is simple but brilliant, and the fact that it’s centered around my favorite hedgehog is just icing on the cake....

Nintendo World Store in NYC getting a makeover

The Nintendo World Store in New York City shut its doors yesterday, but it’s only temporary. Nintendo is currently in the process of giving the store a full facelift, and will re-open on November 1. It sounds like a pretty meaty makeover, too. The “Nintendo Showcase,” which features rare and old-school Nintendo products, will be nearly doubled in size. Additionally, the new store will get new floors, new lighting, new interactive kiosks for the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL, along with fancy new store graphics....

No cheeks but plenty of navel on North American X-Blades box art

Anyone with an eye for flesh could have noticed the discrepancy between the Japanese PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 cover art forTopware Interactive’sX-Blades. The CliffsNotes version ofour earlier story: on the cover of the Xbox 360 version, the game’s protagonist Ayumi’s ass cheeks are exposed; on the PlayStation 3 version, she’s wearing underwear. “X-Bladesis being published by different publishers in international territories,” a rep from SouthPeak told me today when I reached out to them for comment....

No More Heroes 2 Japanese release gets new shirts

Not only is Japan getting a collector’s edition ofNo More Heroes 2, complete with prequel film written by series creator Suda51 and a hentai comic, but the game itself is getting new content as well. There’ll be two new Japan exclusive shirts in-game, that you can actually buy in real life. If you have the means, you can pick themup here. My jealousy knob just got turned up to 11. I know a lot of fans were disappointed withNo More Heroes 2(because the bosses weren’t as chatty, and other nitpicks) but I love the game with all my heart....

Only from Japan: flying Xbox 360s, flying fried shrimp, and IDOLM@STER girls

The WTF-factor of the above video is overwhelming! Never would I have imagined that I’d be able to see an animated Japanese Xbox 360 with two passengers on its back fly over a city, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised — this video did come from Japan, after all. There’s also crotch-exiting flying fried shrip (yum!), which is also transporting a couple of passengers. The whole video stars some roughly redrawn girls from the Japanese Xbox 360/Arcade hit idol managing simIDOLM@STER....

Ooh, a game about walking! Your Life Rhythm comes packed with pedometer

Earlier in the week, aNeoGAF userspotted a strange Nintendo-branded item on the OAMI (the pan-European trademark registry) — a pedometer. Assuming it would be used forWii Fit, the talk eventually dwindled and the little box was forgotten. But no!
