It’s always sad to see a developer go. Gamers can forget it sometimes, but ultimately, videogames are a business, just like films and other media. So I’m sad to bring you this news: Sega Racing Studio has officially gone out of business,according to Next Generation. The development house, which was founded in 2005, had only released one game so far:Sega Rally Revo(see screenshot above), which came out in 2007 for the PS3 and 360....

A ratherredundant studyhas shown that young people love adult-oriented videogames, with M-rated titles proving popular among filthy youths. Apparently, we neededresearchto conclude that people want sex, violence and swearing. 310 kids aged 7-17 were studied by researchers from the University of Michigan and VU University in Amsterdam, and is being used to suggest that age ratings make a tempting “forbidden fruit” among young people. As is common with these studies, the methods used weren’t very scientific....

This time, we’re shown the Deadlock device, an item that lets players manipulate time in order to control weapons, freeze enemies, and look up peoples’ skirts on the train. Warner Bros. Interactive has announcedThe Lord of the Rings: War in the North, an “epic multiplayer action/RPG” in development for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game’s title was revealed last year, when atrademark was unearthedby sneaky Internet spies… nothing gets by us. War in the Northis being developed by Snowblind (Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance,Champions of Norrath), and will feature three player co-op, and is said to “break new ground as a mature RPG video game set in Middle-earth....

Not content to let Capcom hog all the multiplayer action-RPG fun, Square Enix has announcedLord of Arcana, a game that promises to push the PSP’s graphical capabilities “to the limit” and aims to provide four-player antics on a local connection. No online? Boooooo! Lack of online aside,Arcanalooks pretty sexy. The game puts players in the Underworld, where they have to fight monsters, undertake quests, and ultimately obtain the power of Arcana, whatever that is....

Square Enix already has digital releaseMoon Diverup on the PlayStation Network. The Xbox Live Arcade release was dated for later — today.
