French modular lighting system is an homage to dot-chomping

This makes all the modular lighting solutions I’ve seen before look kind of bland. French company Remake has gone above and beyond on this homage to Pac-Man. This would be cool enough if it was a solid piece, but the pieces can be arranged to your taste, allowing you to set the scene however you wish. The only downer about the setup is that it does not move, so you won’t be witnessing a chase anytime soon....

Froth at the mouth over these new Blood of Bahamut screens

Despitethe numberof timesthat I’ve felt slapped down by Square-Enix these past few months, I am still totally psyched about the upcomingBlood of Bahamutfor DS, and thse new screens fromFamitsuonly serve to amp me up more. Funny how the games I’m most excited for are DS or PS2 games … I think my metaphorical retro slip is showing. So what do we know to date aboutBlood of Bahamut? well, not too much, other than Think & Feel are working on it, the greatShadow of the Colossus-like beast in it is called the Gigant, and the protagonist are named Ibuki and Yui....

GameLoft looks to copy Zelda in next iPhone game

Halo,Final Fantasy,Call of Duty,Uncharted… you name a major modern franchise, and GameLoft’s been “inspired” by it. Now the mobile powerhouse has its eyes onThe Legend of Zelda, with a mysterious new title that has been teased in the video above. I’m in two minds about GameLoft nowadays. I think they’re very talented mobile developers who generally get away with the copycat software because they pick on big franchises who won’t lose anything, create game experiences that the official devs just wouldn’t bring us, and are sometimes justbetterat giving us mobile experiences than the real deal....

Get your first look at some WoW: Cataclysm footage on SNF

The National Football League andWorld of Warcraft: two things with a lot in common. Wait. Hear me out. Both are the dominant players in their respective worlds (professional sports and MMOs). Both can make you waste an entire day doing nothing but eating and drinking while sitting in front of a screen. Both have a rabid fan base that can talk your head off about the smallest point of minutia and bring up stats that no normal person would ever remember....

Grasshopper Manufacture’s first game coming to PSN

Suda51 is one of my favorite game designers. While the games that his company,Grasshopper Manufacture, puts out aren’t always very deep from a gameplay perspective, I can’t help loving them. Sometimes you just have to have a little style over substance and this dude has it in spades. Late last week, at an event called, “Foreign Video Game Unlawful Assembly 2K8,” Suda announced that Grasshopper’s first title,The Silver Case, will be hitting the PSN download service....

Greetings from Destructoid’s E3 Intern B*tch 2008

Within the past few weeks, you, the average Destructoid community member, have seen some of your peers promoted to front page editor status. WhileBraddoes mostly news andConradwas recruited for his features, they both possess a common trait: on their Community Blogs, they were prolific, eloquent writers. I would be honored to say that I am here to join the newbs for the same reasons. Unfortunately, I can’t. I gotta believe! PaRappa could return on the Vita

Here’s how much I love thePaRappa the Rapperfranchise: When I see a used copy of any of the series games in a store, I rage. I playUnjammer Lammyon almost every flight I take, and I fly about 100,000 miles a year, so that’s a lot. I playPaRappa the Rapper 2at least once a month, every month. I sing the NanaOn-Sha jingle to myself at random during the day. I don’t just like this franchise....

Ignition not happy with Arc Rise Fantasia voice acting

It stands as testament to how far videogames have come when voice acting — once a totally ancillary feature — can make or break a title.Arc Rise Fantasia, released for Wii last year, was a solid roleplaying game with a potentially great story, but the localized actors completely wrecked it. Luckily, the game’s publisher agrees and won’t be making that mistake again. “I agree with a lot of the concerns you have with the voices inArc Rise,” Ignition’s Shane Bettenhausentold Siliconera....
