For those of us who are still using our computers as gaming platforms we’ve known the wonders of the body swapping, RPGTrinefor a good long while now. While not the greatest game on earth, it was definitely a creative and interesting stab at the genre. Those living in Europe have recently received the game on the PS3 after a fewdelays, and have learned what a great indie game it is and those in the US who console game will just have to wait a bit longer to experience the game....

There truly is no accounting for taste. Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Dayssits atop the UK Chart this week, debuting in the top position. Cue mass hysteria over a spreading pandemic as parents don’t realize why their children have become dizzy and are vomiting everywhere. It should be noted thatDog Dayshas been having its prices slashed since before it even launched in the UK. Several places were selling it at a discount, which may well have something to do with it....

Xbox 360 exclusiveGears of War 2has managed toblast its way to the topof the UK sales charts, puttingLittleBigPlanetin its place despite the latters two-day lead. Both games are the highly anticipated Holiday killers for their respective platform, but it seems that the opening battle has gone to Epic Games’ steroid-pumped shooter. WhileGears 2soaks up the glory of the top spot,LittleBigPlanethas a less impressive position at number four, having also lost out toFIFA 09andFallout 3....

Don’t bother to get excited if you are a fan of the retro Phantasy Star series (as you know I am, big time) — this new DS title is unfortunately not a straightforward RPG as we might have hoped. Ubisoft is rewarding its uPlay users with a freebie. A bonus mission forAssassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, “The Trajan Market,” is being offered free to uPlay members. This mission was previously released to people who bought the “Codex Edition” of that game. I’m a fan of the uPlay program. While I don’t particularly care for the idea of having yet another account to keep track of (something which has already resulted in my accidentally preventing me from ever linking Facebook to uPlay), I approve of companies finding ways to maintain customer loyalty at little expense....

Appearing on Attack of the Show via webcam was the coolest moment in this little geek’s life, so imagine the uncontrollable happy dance I did when a local Canadian TV station contacted me to appear as an expert (shows what they know) on a segment about videogame addiction. Let’s just say that there was a long and merry jig performed after I hung up the phone. CHCHHamilton or E! has a small debate show called Live at 5:30pm where two hosts Mark and Donna talk about the latest issues with a few experts on the subject....

As if you needed any further proof that the medialovesto blame tragedy on videogames,this onetakes the cake. A young boy died by jumping from a garage roof with a makeshift parachute, possibly imitating one of his favorite wrestlers. However, rather than pin the blame on the WWE, it is instead theWWE Smackdownvideogame that is being burdened with responsibility. Headlines such as, “9-year-old Damori Miles dies in jump off Brooklyn apartment, may have been imitating video game,” or, “Boy fond of video game wrestler’s swan dives makes plastic parachute, takes NY roof death leap,” are lighting up news outlets across America, putting focus onvideogamesinstead of wrestling....

Well, not so muchdie, but be one of the uncool kids, and that’s pretty much the same thing as being dead. So, Nintendo has released it’s new “Everybody Votes” channel which will allow readers to vote on the truly hot button issues that are facing the gaming world today, like: Which is a more romantic Valentine’s Day gift? Chocolates or roses. I’d rather live in a house on…A mountain or a beach....

We’ve already told you about the PSN gameSideway: New Yorkand its October 11th release date, and if you were curious, enjoy this gameplay trailer to get a look at how the 2D/3D works. The game follows Nox, a graffiti artist who must save his friends while going up against his nemesis Spray. After watching the gameplay I am intrigued, it looks like a fun game, and for the price ($9.99) isn’t going to break the bank....

Fans ofMetroidgames, and indeed, fans of good-looking games in general will want to watch this footage ofInsanely Twisted Shadow Planet(XBLA) that’s come out of PAX East. Ten full minutes, with minimal editing to be found — this is one of those it-sells-itself scenarios, no question. The art style and animation are superb, which is obviously great. But more importantly, the mechanics look to be a considerable amount of fun. That saw blade weapon at about eight minutes in is also suitably badass....

This weekend,The MinibossesandMC Frontalotwere in town. Well, The Minibosses live here, but that’s neither here nor there. They were performing at a party forKingdom of LoathingCon V (which was also open to the public) and, as expected, it was a great show. The show was stolen, however, byMC Lars. I’d heard of MC Lars but wasn’t familiar with his stuff. He classifies his music as “Post-punk laptop hip-hop,” which is as good a description as I could possibly give it....

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick is now a movie star, featuring in Brad Pitt’s new movie,Moneyball. At least it can be said that he picked a film with a fitting name, since according to the Internet, money and balls are his favorite things. You can check out the movie trailer 58 seconds into the video. Kotick’s the one behind the desk, acting like Kotick. We were able to confirm with Activision that, yeah, that’s Kotick....
