Capcom teases fake Mega Man Vs Capcom Vs Marvel game

Damn you, Capcom. Why do you tease? This has to be the zillionth time you’ve advertised a fake game that I’d kill to actually play.Lego Strider, the NESDark Voidport, all just as awesome as (if not more awesome than) your real games. This one takes the cake though. This is the fake Capcom game I want above all others. Around the time that Marvel Vs. Capcom was first released, Capcom promoted the game with theirSecret File magazine, which includeda flierforRockman V: Confrontation!...

Choke on these Serious Sam 3: BFE screens

Here are some screenshots forSerious Sam 3: BFE, which I am playing a preview build of right now and can confirm is pretty damn badass.Serious Samfans are in for a treat, because it provides everything you expect of the game — big guns, ridiculous enemies, and … wait, that’s all we need. My build is still an early one that needs a lot of development, but it’s already looking cool and feels solid....

Creating Brad Nicholson in Dragon Age: Origins is easy

As planned, theDragon Age: OriginsCharacter Creatorhit the Internet earlier yesterday afternoon. Made available so players could get a jump on the game instead of staring at a creation screen for the first few hours, it doesn’t disappoint. Then again, it isn’t an ambitious downloadable — it’s just a character creator. I would find it hard to believe that such a thing could fail. Especially when it’s so easy to make me with it....

Darksiders Black Tower wasn’t supposed to infuriate me

I hateZeldabecause of Water temples. I almost hatedDarksidersbecause of the Black Tower. The other night I finished my plod to the main boss of the Black Tower, an ebony maze in Vigil Games’sDarksiders. Its convoluted multi-tiered design andPortal-like mechanics drove my pre-frontal cortex to exhaustion — the chariot driver was no longer controlling the wild horses. “Samael can f–cking blow me,” I announced to the TV as I attempted to adjust neon blue beams inside the tower’s gothic innards....

Destructoid review: Retro

When I sat down to play Big Head Games’Elefunkfor the first time, I was unprepared. I didn’t realize that a physics-based game starring an elephant could have depth. It did, and I filed the simple observation in a folder in my brain marked, “Who saw that coming?” That folder also contains the memory of a shattered kneecap (frisbee accident) and the final boss battle inDead Space. I enjoyedElefunk, so when I found out that Big Head was doing an iPhone title calledRetro, I rushed to the iTunes App Store to see what the studio could do on the platform....

E3 08: Red Faction: Guerrilla takes destructible environments to the next level

Since we entered into this generation of consoles, I have patiently waited for a game that could truly deliver realistic destruction on a massive scale. Thousands of games have come to market since then, but none have allowed me to satisfy my need to blow sh*t up … until now. After the break, you’ll find a video in which the fine people at Volition, Inc. give us a glimpse of what to expect from their upcoming third-person shooter,Red Faction: Guerrilla....

E3 09: Konami announces Pop ‘n Music for the Wii

Pop ‘n Musicis one of those arcade games that is justhardcore. I don’t have the the ability to focus as well as those people do, so I flounder quickly. But that’s partially because I don’t get enough practice with it. Thankfully, Konami has come to the rescue, and announced that they’re bringingPop ‘n Musicto the Wii. The game is set to launch this Fall with a “variety of original and licensed music,” although they don’t quite give hints to any of the songs that’ll be included — the only extra info we’ve got is that there’ll be competition and battle modes for you and your friends....

E3 10: BBC say PlayStation Move more accurate than Kinect

As youmay know by now, Microsoft has turned me off of Kinect completely thanks to its pretentious shenanigans. However, the BBC seems to agree that Kinect is not made of hot stuff, although for a far less personal reason. According to the British outlet, Kinect just can’t match Move for accuracy. The BBC said that while Kinect was fine for “Wii-like games where you don’t need much precision,” it didn’t feel very accurate and there was room for skepticism when considering how it would handle more “hardcore” titles....
