Say hello to my little Wii; Scarface coming to Nintendo’s console

British gaming mag,NGamer, has broken the first news on Vivendi’sScarfacefor the Nintendo Wii. While the bulk of the information (including screens) can be found in their latest issue, NGamer’s official site teases with a few tasty lines: Shooting – a key part in most missions – is mapped on to the remote pointer, with players able to direct the aiming reticule around the screen, leaving a trail of Miami dead in its path....

SDCC: New Splinter Cell: Conviction trailer

Ubisoft has released a new trailer forSplinter Cell: Convictionat Comic-Con. It’s hidden somewhere in this post. It’s like finding Waldo, except Sam Fisher willf–king kill youif you can’t find him. Oh, and I haven’t actually made it difficult to find because it’s in exactly the same place all the trailers posted are placed. Which is, to say, below the fold. A good bit of the footage is recycled from the E3 trailer from last month, but stick with it through the first third and you’ll see some new things....

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 HD wins Game of the Year in Narnia

Wallpaper designerAlchemist Definedhas just ruined my day. He (she?) created an absolutely stunning mock-up image of whatSonic the Hedgehog 2could look like in HD and now I can’t focus on anything else. All I see when I look down at this mound of work on my desk are images of a beautifully rendered blue hedgehog running through a gloriously polished parallax scrolling universe. Even though it isn’t real, I want this game … bad....

Sony fails to subpoena Google, PayPal over PS3 hacking

Sonyrecently attemptedto subpoena the Internet in an attempt to find justice for the notorious PS3 hacking debacle. Unfortunately for Sony, the judge thought it went a bit mental with its demands, and hasdeniedsubpoenas to such high profile establishments as Google, PayPal and Twitter. The PS3 platform holder went on a good ol’ fashioned witch hunt earlier this week, attempting to find anybody evenslightlyinvolved with the controversy. Sony in no rush for PS4 release after Wii U announcement

Sony’s Jack Tretton does his best to shrug off the announcement of Nintendo’s Wii U console. He’s back to his playful trash talking, like always. Check out what he said toForbesrecently, speaking on how they’ll react to the Wii U announcement: “I didn’t see anything about Nintendo’s announcement that said ‘Oh, we’d better get working on rolling out a new PlayStation here pretty soon.'” said Tretton. “What we’ve seen from the competition is trying to add features that already exist in PlayStation 3,” Tretton said....

Sony wants to rumble, but so far it’s a fumble

It’s not exactly an insider’s secret that the PlayStation 3’s lack of rumble has something to do with past licensing issues between Sony andImmersionCorp. After asettlementwas reached back in February, it was a no-brainer to imagine Sony hard at work on putting rumble back to work for them. In short, a rumble filled Sixaxis is all but a given. With that out of the way, the focus now is on when we can actually expect to see rumble technology added to future PS3 controllers....

Splinter Cell PC delay has nothing to do with DRM

Word from Ubisoft earlier in March pegged Sam Fisher’s PC return date inSplinter Cell: Convictionas April 30th, two weeks after the Xbox 360 launch of the game. It turns out that the reason for the delay, as Eurogamerhas discovered, has nothing to do with Ubisoft DRM or elit3 hackers. Chock it up to another round of polish. “The reason that has been given for the delay is that the extra time was need to polish and debug the game,” a publisher said, adding, “The slip has not been linked to the DRM....

Spyborgs makes me afraid to go near any kind of docks

Capcom just released some new footage of its Wii-exclusive,Spyborgs, and now I’m afraid to go near any kind of dock area. Living in Baltimore, I’m near some water and a fair number of “dock” areas. If this gameplay footage is any indication, docks are a breeding ground for mechanized warfare and explosions. I dig the Cheesecake Factory and Discovery Zone in Baltimore’s “Inner Harbor” area, but not at the expense of my well-being, thank you very much....

STOP RELEASING NEW F*CKING HANDHELDS!

My fellow Americans, we find ourselves under attack. Not from terrorists. Not from communists. Not even from flesh eating viruses that turn our lungs into a lumpy red paste. We face a fresh onslaught, on an incalculable and pandemic scale. There seems to be no stemming the tide, and all we can do is make our peace before drowning in the mire as the floodgates burst open. I am of course talking about the ridiculous amount of handheld game systems that have done a wonderful job of dividing the market and ruining everything for everybody....
