Love Zombie: The feel-good zombie game of 2011

When Maurice linked me to this video, I immediately thought to myself, “I bet we’ve covered this game exactly once before, and Holmes was the guy who wrote it up.” Sure enough, that’show it went down. To my knowledge, this is our first glimpse ofLove Zombiein motion. It’s disgustingly adorable to the point where I want to die — and come back as a happy little Japanese zombie. As Jonathan noted previously, this might be our go-to choice for a solidPikmin-like game until Nintendo finally does something withPikmin 3in the public forum....

Monster Hunter Frontier could leave Japan

Monster Hunter Frontierhas been confirmed for the Xbox 360, and you know what that means — it might be due a Western release.Monster Huntergames have never been huge sellers outside of Japan, but that’s mostly because they end up on platforms without a robust Western online presence. The 360 release could change that, however. “I feel Monster Hunter can definitely succeed overseas,” says R&D head Keiji Inafune. “There’s a high possibility that MHF will kickstart that....

More things to do with your Wiimote: control a lawnmower

NiGHTS sequel release date, uh … released

Moments ago, as I lie asleep in my bed, I got a weird tingling sensation in the back of my head. Having felt this sensation before, I knew it meant one of two things: first, that my wife just went into labor and my daughter was finally being born or second, Sega has finally dropped a release date forNiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. Unfortunately, as I rolled over, I noticed my still extremely preggo wife sleeping soundly, so I rushed to the computer to find the following tidbit courtesy ofSiliconera:...

Ninja Theory devs talk Enslaved: Pigsy’s Perfect Ten DLC

Oh look, it’s anotherEnslaveddeveloper diary. Been a while since we’ve seen one of these but withPigsy’s Perfect Tenon the horizon, we get still more developer commentary on what has been one of my favorite games this year. Nintendo wasn’t lying: Grandmas love the Wii

This picture was taken on Christmas Day at my house. In it, you will see my 16-year-old sister (the fat one, on the left) and my 79-year-old grandmother playingWii Sportstogether. Say what you will about the graphics and the lack of decent launch titles, but Nintendo wasn’t yanking your chain when they said that the Wii can win over non-gamers of any age: it’s simplistic, fun, familiar, and instantly accessible....

Oneechanbara: The Movie

I may not be a movie connoisseur, but I know what I like. And while Americans love to hate silly videogame-based movies, I love them. I’m the guy they make them for. I may be alone in this, but give meDead or Aliveover something likeCinderella Manany day. It seems that my videogame movie prayers have been answered with the announcement of a newOneechanbaramovie. The Japanese budget hack-and-slash series starring a bikini-wearing, katana-wielding Japanese cowgirl has always raised eyebrows, but some seem more attracted to the game’spromotional campaignsthan the title itself....
