New developer diary for Stormrise: Helghast versus Chimera?

The latest developer diary forStormriseis posted above, and it details the two warring factions and heroes that take center stage in this realtime strategy. The only thing I can think of, however, is just how similar in artistic style it looks to bothKillzoneandResistance. In fact, if you had told me this was a game about Helghast fighting Chimera, I’d almost believe you. That said, I’ll give it a chance. The aesthetic direction looks generic, but good RTS games are few and far between these days....

New screens for Summon Night: Twin Age

Sonot every Atlus game is perfect. Luckily, I don’t make final judgements easily (and am not apt to forget the awesome that wasPersona 3anytime soon), so my faith in their upcoming releases is unhindered. New screenshots and box art have come to light for their upcoming DS title,Summon Night: Twin Age, which comes out on May 20th. It still looks it’ll be a really lighthearted, fun RPG. From the screenshots, you can tell crafting is going to come into play, and it seems as if the touch screen will be used for most combat....

Nintendo asks for U.S.’s help in striking back against pirates

In the latest effort to curtail the piracy of its intellectual property, Nintendo is urging U.S. Trade Representatives to increase pressure on governments around the world to tighten the leash on what they view is rampant piracy of their consoles and games. As you can see from this excerpt from the official press release sent to us, the numbers are indeed staggering: The unprecedented momentum enjoyed by Nintendo DS and Wii makes Nintendo an attractive target for counterfeiters,” said Jodi Daugherty, Nintendo of America’s senior director of anti-piracy....

PAX 2007: Naruto : Clash of Ninja Revolution hands-on

Narutard (a nickname forNarutofans) or not, it was hard to resist the fist-shaking charms of D3 Publisher’sNaruto: Clash of Ninja Revolutionon the Penny Arcade Expo’s show floor, and it seemed that everyone wanted try out this Wii brawler. On our own, it was fairly difficult to get our hands on this title, so we were glad that D3 Publisher gave us a little preview. Portal 2’s user-created levels possible on all platforms

Console gamers typically get the shaft when it comes to user-created content in popular FPS games. But Valve is givingPortal 2buyers some hope for cross-platform compatibility.Speaking with NowGamer, Valve’s Chet Falizek explained that while the level editing tools for the game are limited to the PC version, “the content that comes out is agnostic, and so we will be seeing that on all the platforms.” Falizek went on to clarify that different platforms will be seeing different delivery methods, confirming that PS3 users would receive user-created content via Steamworks....

Portal’s Chell is thinking with LEGOs

There have been other LEGOPortalfigures crafted in thepast, but nothing compared to this! LEGO artist Tyler (aka Legohaulic) has immortalized heroine Chell and her bosom buddy Companion Cube in brick form. These aren’t just tiny minifigs that somewhat resemble their in-game counterparts, either. These are sizable sculpts with incredible detail. Actually, this isn’t Tyler’s first dive into the world of Aperture Science. Back in April, hemodeledATLAS and P-Body, the protagonists ofPortal 2‘s co-op campaign....

Prince of Persia gets special edition and Penny Arcade comic

Special editions are nothing new, and have become far too overused in my opinion. Ubisoft, however, is actually doing somethingspecialwith its special edition ofPrince of Persia. Rather than provide a “limited” edition version of the game for an increased price, Ubi will be “upgrading” copies to special edition status if they are pre-ordered for absolutely nothing. The upgraded version of the game will include: • Collectable Limited Edition packaging• An exclusive look at the making ofPrince of Persia• A Prima® digital mini-strategy guide full of developer’s secrets to help players master the year’s best action-adventure game• A digital art book that chronicles the game’s journey from concept to winner of Best Artistic Design at E3 2008• The original soundtrack scored by master composer Inon Zur...

Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands Flash game is super fun

Ubisoft tipped us off to a new Flash game they’ve made to promotePrince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Now, it may just be that I’ve been playing a lot ofTomena Sannerlately but I think this is damn good. Spanning six levels, it’s a forced-scrolling platformer where the Prince runs from left to right and you have to jump obstacles. You can jump, wall climb, run across ceilings and attack with a sword....

PS2 gets its own wiggle wand

It seems like gaming companies are slowly taking away our right to sit still and motionless while playing our games. The Wii already has us doing every type of silly motion humanly possible, and even the PS3 sometimes has us flicking our controllers about, but now it looks like more arm flailing is coming to the PlayStation2. A company called In2Games will be showing new motion-sensing peripherals at the Leipzig Gaming Convention....
