A few weeks back, Sony had confirmed that there was “no collector’s edition slated forKillzone 2,” claiming that since Guerrilla had put all its effort into the software side of things, such extra trinkets weren’t necessary. Apparently, such trinkets actuallywerenecessary, at least in Europe. Yes, a collector’s edition ofKillzone 2does exist, despite claims to the contrary. Europeans can pre-order “limited edition collector’s box,” which consists of a metal tin and … not a lot else....

EA and Image Comics have united to create a six issue comic detailing the events prior to the horrors ofDead Space. Written and illustrated by Ben Templesmith of30 Days of Nightfame and co-written byWastelandauthor Antony Johnston, the book tells the tale of an off-world mining colony that unearths an alien life force thatreallylikes killing, or blood, or both. Survival horror is the most popular and most titles fall under that umbrella, but some have suggested “combat horror” as a branch of the same tree (in which the character you play is not your average helpless citizen). While I like what I’m getting when I buy a horror title, I usually know what I’m going to be doing....

Why aren’t there more co-op games? Why are so many modern titles focused either ononlysingleplayer campaigns and multiplayer deathmatches, with multiplayer co-op often acting as nothing more than an afterthought? The act of going through an entire campaign with the help of a close friend or online stranger can, in theory, combine the best aspects of both single- and multiplayer modes; the player still gets an interesting story and level design catered specifically for the players’ enjoyment, but with all the fun social networking that a pleasant multiplayer game can afford (when played with friends, that is)....

I threw together a little tribute to the voice acting ofDynasty Warriors 3. You just don’t get performances of this caliber in videogames, and as sarcastic as that sounds, I am almost saddened by it. Even mediocre games get passable voice actors these days. Where did all the bad Kung-Fu voices go? Anyway, this video is stupid and the quality is poor (cobbled together as it is from other shitty videos) but it makes me happy....

White Knight Chroniclesis the latest game by RPG darlings Level 5. It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything from them, but could this be a welcome return to the spotlight? It’s difficult to provide hands-on coverage of an RPG that you’ve only been able to tackle for a matter of minutes at a crowded booth, but I can certainly tell you how the combat pans out, and how it looks....
