Funcom Project Manager, Erling Ellingsen, recently spoke toEurogamerabout the Xbox 360 version ofAge of Conan. Xbox 360 version of Trine probably canned

Despite being announced, it looks likeTrineon the Xbox 360 won’t be happening. In a post via Frozenbye Interactive’sofficial message board, the studio’s Joel Kinnunen wrote that the project is “out of our hands but most likely won’t happen.” He added that the Frozenbyte collective might not comment on this matter “any further,” a comment that has us scratching our heads a bit. Zipper calls SOCOM 4 ‘the real first SOCOM on the PS3’

Last week, I had some hands-on time with Zipper Interactive’sSOCOM 4, the studio’s firstSOCOMgame in four and a half years (the last entry in the franchise that the developer worked on was the 2006 PSP gameSOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2). This isn’t the first iteration of the series on the PS3 — Slant Six Games developed the online-onlySOCOM: Confrontation, which launched in October 2008 tomiddling reviews. I brought upConfrontationin a conversation withSOCOM 4designer Ben Jones, and he was diplomatic about it — while he didn’t openly bad-mouth Slant Six’s poorly received effort, he did offer a not-so-subtle jab:...

3DS gets first place in Japan sales, PSP puts up a fight

The Japanese software and hardware chart went live today, and it revealed that the 3DS managed to squeak into first place — but not without resistance from Sony. Nintendo itselfhas admittedthat the 3DS’ performance has been sluggish, but that’s what happens when you release a system almost two months before it’s ready....

Amazon cloud servers possibly used in PSN hack attack

A source from within the seedy depths of the Internet has implicated Amazon’s cloud servers inthe PlayStation Network breachthat saw millions of consumer data stolen and the downtime of Sony’s online services. According to the allegation, hackers created a legitimate account (with fake details, obviously) to rent a server through Amazon’s EC2 service and stage its attack on the PSN from there. The account has been shut down, which is obviously a great comfort to know at this stage....
