Konami is throwing their hat into the WiiWare ring, and I quite like the sound of it. It can’t be any worse thanPuzzle! Puzzle! Puzzle!, anyway. The first title, known asSaku Saku Animal Panicin Japan, will be released in North America asCritter Round-Up. The puzzle game can accomodate up to four players and has you building fences to keepout the bad animals and keep in the good. There are fifty levels and a mini-game called Predator Rampage which seems like it might especially be relevant to my interests....

I was about to declare this disturbingly accurate Kratos PC as the creepiest case mod ever, but then I realized that’s really not a path any of us want to go down. If it exists, there’s a case mod for it — and lots of terrifying sh*t exists on the Internet. Because a simple 620 x 300-something shot of this project wouldn’t do it any justice, we opted for a full-on video of the thing in action....

Yay! MoreShin Megami Tensei! A new teaser siteposted by Atlus Japan had its beans spilled. The reveal payload was supposed to hit on July 24th, but some html digging revealed the game name via an image:Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. What you see above is that logo, captured bythis Japanese blog. Being a revealed leak, we have nothing in the way of details other than what looks to be a release date....

Ladies and gentlemen, the long wait isnearly over. We finally have a release date for the eagerly anticipated co-op zombie shooterLeft 4 Dead. The Turtle Rock Studios FPS has been driving gamers to breaking point with the excruciating wait, but we now know that Valve will be spilling the title like so many undead entrails on November 4. Due for the PC and the Xbox 360,Left 4 Deadallows players to work together and fight against waves of “infected,” or take each other on as humans and zombies in a competitive environment....

LucasArts doesn’t plan to continue updating games in theMonkey Islandfranchise; but critical and financial success could sow the seeds for a continuation. We recently spoke withSecret of Monkey Island: Special EditionproducerCraig Derrickvia e-mail. In the interview, he voiced a deep appreciation ofMonkey Islandand a desire to continue updating the LucasArts classic series. Derrick supposed that an update toLeChuck’s Revengehinges on three factors: sales, reaction, and attraction. “I think LeChuck’s Revenge would be awesome to revisit, but at this time we have no plans for future updates,” Derrick said....

Has this ever happened before? Just like the headline says, a man put his Steam account for sale on eBay, essentially beating the system and finding a way to sell secondhand games via the digital distribution platform. It appears to have worked out very well, too. 139 games were up for grabs, and somebody actually bit, stumping up $1,000 for the “Buy It Now” price. It seems that the seller, “dave311freak,” has inspired some other hopeful Steam merchants, as two more Steam accounts have popped up for sale, albeit with significantly less to offer....

Sad news — Rockstar has just informed us that their South Central downloadable content forMidnight Club: Los Angeleshas been pushed back a week. Now you’ll have to wait until March 19 to download the new content, which expands the game’s map by one third. Rockstar keeps tellings us that, be we refuse to do the math, so that actually means nothing. The DLC will come in two flavors — free and premium....

Most game commercials that use real-life actors make me cringe, but thankfully, this particular ad is not for a Wii game or karaoke title. This is a new live-action trailer for the PC version ofMirror’s Edge, and it looks pretty classy. Of course, it’s nothing I couldn’t easily do myself. In fact, the above video is based upon some fly moves I used to pull just for fun. It was actually my ability to run along walls and jump from rooftops that inspired DICE to createMirror’s Edgein the first place....

To go alongside today’sDead Space 2demo, there’s a a new video that recaps the events leading up to the upcoming installment. If you haven’t played the original game and don’t ever plan to, feel free to give this a watch. Spoilers be damned! And even if you have experienced it, there’s some neat pre-Dead Spacebuild up and even a little tease forDS2. All things considered, this video is well-made and should be a nice treat for fans....

This week’s Xbox Live Arcade release is the Atari classic,Missile Command. It’s set to hit XBLA on Independence Day and can be yours for 400 Microsoft Points. I guess if you squint your eyes and have a little booze in you, the explosions inMissile Commanddo sort of resemble fireworks exploding. Fun little factoid courtesy ofWikipedia: “while programmingMissile Command, its writer suffered from nightmares.” What a traumatic experience that must’ve been for the poor guy....

This week’s theme isn’t too challenging, but solving the easy teasers first is probably a must. As usual, don’t be afraid to shout out ideas and work together as a team to solve them all....
