New game from Hatsworth devs brings cookies and violence

IGNjust put up an interview with the team behindProject Monster(working title), the new game from the developers ofHenry Hatsworth. The game is about a young girl who takes a monster under her wing, who returns the favor by helping her beat up other monsters and their kids; sort of like ABoy and his Blobbut with less jelly beans and more wanton violence. That’s just my take; the developers mention other influences, namelyPokemon,Metroid,Mega Man,Castlevania, and “fighting/beat-’em- ups”....

New trailer and screens for DS RPG A Witch’s Tale

We keep hearing tidbits about the scribbly, touch-action DS gameA Witch’s Tale, but we haven’t actually seen much of it yet. The dark fairy tale role-playing game has great art and an interesting cast, but that tells us nothing about game play. Thankfully, NIS America has released a new trailer that shows a bit about how the game is played, with game play footage included. In battle, you simply select a skill, pick it up and drag it with your DS stlys, drop it, and then watch things happen from your choices....

Nintendo Power Awards 2006 begin, Scorsese snubbed again [UPDATE!]

Now that we’re well into February 2007,Nintendo Powerhas put outa callfor all of Nintendo’s loyal fans to vote on their favorite games of the year. The list, of course, covers all of Nintendo’s consoles and since the magazine itself is financed by Nintendo, you may be sure that this list is going to be taped up in Reggie’s locker (at least until it’s replaced by a picture of Farrah Fawcett, or, failing that, Wanda Sykes)....

Nintendo to force old people to play Super Mario Bros Wii

Grandma: “Sir, can I trouble you for a glass of warm milk? It helps me go to sleep.” Nintendo PR: “You can trouble me for a warm glass of shut-the-hell-up!” Grandma: “My fingers hurt.” Nintendo PR: “Oh, well, now your back’s gonna hurt, ’cause you just pulled Wii PR duty. Anybody else’s fingers hurt?… I didn’t think so.” Okay, so Nintendo isn’t quite as rough as the orderly fromHappy Gilmore, but I’m sure they’ve had to use a firm hand at least once in their latest effort, a tour of ten of senior communities....

Nintendo: 3DS price will ‘fit’ with current DS structure

Nintendo has remained coy on the eventual price for a 3DS, but at least one UK spokesman has suggested that the price will be very reasonable indeed. The Nintendo DSi XL, with the larger screens, is around £159....
