Cliffy B rounded out this year’s Microsoft keynote — chainsaws-a-blazing — at the 2008 Game Developers Conference with the announcement we all expected:Gears of War 2. He says to expect something “bigger and far more badass.” We didn’t get to see much in the way of what GOW 2 will look like, but if the any of the new features and additions of the Unreal Engine are incorporated into the title, at least we’ll know that it looks pretty....

OK, so here’s the deal: Raphael Saadiq, former member of the R&B group Toni! Toni! Tone! has his own videogame company, the Denver-based studio Illfonic. Their first project isGhetto Golf, a downloadable titles that mixes together four Gs: games, gangsters, guns, and golf. Right. Sony has announced that theGod of War Collection— the “remastered” Blu-ray collection featuringGod of War IandGod of War IIfor the PlayStation 3 — will hit stores on November 17. Oh, and it’s only $39.99. If that weren’t enough for you, both games will feature their own sets of PlayStation 3 trophies. We’ve known for a little while that an all new Pokemon game is in the works, but that could mean a million different things. At last year’s E3, Codemasters announced their new shooterBodycount. However, since its big unveiling, the game’s hardly been seen or heard from until it appeared at Namco Bandai’s Level UP event. I interviewed Game Director Andy Wilson who talked a little bit about whatBodycountis and how they plan on making it a “class leading gun experience”. Today, Activision Blizzard announced that itsCall of Dutyfranchise has surpased $3 billion in retail sales, taking into account internal numbers, as well as independent tracking sources. Keeping this number in mind, and the fact that the games in the franchise have sold more than 55 million units worldwide, expect one or moreCall of Dutygames a year until the end of time. L.A. Noirelooks set to be receiving some exclusive content on the PlayStation 3, according to several pieces of evidence. The content comes in the form of a new mission,The Consul’s Car Traffic Case, and Rockstar itself has promised details soon. Fans were first tipped off to the news by Amazon and GameStop, both of which feature PS3 box art bearing the legends, “Exclusive content” and “Only on PS3.” This was later followed byRockstar Networkuncovering a promotional image mentioning the content by name....
