I’m not exactly sure what happened (as I was extremely busy over the last couple of days) but I’m going to guess that Disney pulled a Sega and contacted YTMND to take down any Disney Princesses related YTMNDs. Whatever the case, it was pretty hilarious to open up YTMND and see Jasmine, Snow White and other famous cartoon stars that I would totally bang. According to the on-screen text, the clips are from a pre-alpha build, but that doesn’t stop the game from looking as gorgeous as a moonlit African savanna (filled with naked women and huge LCD televisions).Since Crytek sold the rights to theFarCryseries to Ubisoft, this sequel is being developed without their involvement....
Microsoft made a doody when they launched the 360 in Japan; instead of having the killer apps they needed to win over the extremely finnicky Jap market, they deliveredTetris Grandmaster Aceand then sat around wondering “What went wrong?” Well, not that anyone is going to buy them, but Microsoft has at least put in a good effort to make the 360 Elite readily availably in Japan and at a much lower price ($390, as opposed to $480 in the states and $800 on eBay)....
It’s just a teaser image at the moment, but a brand new Web site,Brightfalls.com, appears to be the beginning of a viral advertising campaign for Remedy’s upcoming Xbox 360 exclusives,Alan Wake. As we discussed earlier today, a brand new trailer went up, and this site seems to coincide with that. The teaser image welcomes us to Bright Falls and proudly describes it as “The Home of the Annual Deerfest.” Alan Wake, possessing aTwin Peaks-esque feel to the premise, seems like a prime candidate for some viral marketing....

Maker of obnoxiously addictive and awesome games PopCap has announced that it will be releasingBejeweled 3on December 7. The game certainly looks familiar. Let me think… oh, right! It looks just likeBejeweled. The sequel will feature the same “match-3” game mechanic that made the series so popular, while adding a handful of new features. In addition to the classic play,Bejeweled 3will add a Quest mode with 40 puzzles, a Zen mode (where you can customize your sounds), and a timed “Lightning” mode....

This does sound like an awesome idea but there’s just one small little detail that ruins this entire concept....

Right down to the loading screens, the game is steeped in self-referential silliness, as these new images fromAndria Sangdemonstrate. The game’s loading screens are images of various retro games re-imagined in the3D Dot Game Heroesart style. You should be able to spotCastlevaniaandDragon Questin there, but what else can you see? Some of these looks really obscure, so I invite you all to take a look at the various screens and try to work out what game From Software is referencing....

What’s the hype about?Killzone 2looks amazing, and these new videos definitely impress.To be honest, I wasn’t very excited about the title up until this week. I didn’t understand they hype. I came to understand it a bit more after our CES team had a chance to get some hands-on time with the game on the show floor.We followed that with a presentation onKillzone 2and its inner workings. The presentation was peppered with clips that highlight visuals, technology and other details....
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen or heard anything from Radical Entertainment and its third-person, open-world action titlePrototype. In fact, the last time we really heard anything new about the game was last year’s San Francisco Game Developers Conference. And then when Activision got its claws into Sierra Entertainment,Prototype‘s former publisher, Radical Entertainment went dark.Now, with the game shipping for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this summer and Activision Blizzard taking over publishing duties, they’re ready to talk....
