Unlike the last few years, Valve had a massive presence at this year’s gamescom. In celebration of their newest game,Dota 2, they held a massive tournament called “The International.” During this contest, we were able to talk to Valve co-founder Gabe Newell in an extensive 12-minute video interview. Wideload’s Hail to the Chimp screens and artwork; no zombies in sight

Wideload Games is best known for a few things, the least of which is that the company’s founder, Alex Seropian, was also a founder of Bungie (those are they guys that madeOni, right?). More importantly, Wideload is known for letting players “be the zombie” in the 2005 sleeper,Stubbs the Zombie. While their upcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title,Hail to the Chimp, doesn’t appear to feature a single flesh-eater, the game’s unique aesthetic and “over-the-top” party game angle is certainly appealing....

Wii turns heads, revives dormant gamers

November has been a pox upon my free time, my wallet and my self-esteem; as such, I didn’t expect my girlfriend to be too hyped on this recent splurge of games. She’s got gaming in her blood, though, having grown up with two fiercely geeky older brothers. Despite herterriblysexy nigh-encyclopedic knowledge of gaming, she doesn’t reallygameall that much. She was always afraid to be geeky growing up. Since we got a place together I’ve been making small moves to get her back into console gaming....

Brian recently went to the All Candy Expo and came across a couple of new Nintendo themed candy products in the ever growingNintendo themed candyproducts. The Wii Candy Dispenser looks to be the size of a regular Wiimote and looks to dispense some type of delicious candy from the top of the Wiimote....

‘Splosion Man: Avatar Awards, a multiplayer fix and steak

Easily one of the better downloadable games to come out this year,‘Splosion Manwas really only hurt by one thing: the inability to consistently get a good online co-op match going. The further you progressed through a level, the more out of sync you became with everyone else. It was hilarious to see ‘Splosion Man swimming in the air at first, but then it became annoying pretty fast when the difficulty ramped up....

Art Attack Friday is your weekly look at videogame fan art created by a talented artist. GENZOMAN has been making therounds this weekdue to hisadult Link drawing. Atari Preview Tour: Ghostbusters (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

The upcomingGhostbustersgame has crossed a few dimensions in its development time. After Activision and Blizzard hooked up, they let go of all the games that couldn’t properly be beaten into the ground on a yearly basis and one of the victims of that was theGhostbustersgame. Thankfully, Atari were able to use a Proton Beam to wrangle the game over to their Ecto-Containment Unit (my jokes are horribly corny, I know)....
