Does LEGO Batman: Gotham City Games bring me closer to owning an iPhone?

It’s unheard of in the videogame industry, but I don’t have an iPhone. I can’t go to an industry event without seeing at least 57 of them; maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’ve been toying with the idea of picking up an iPod Touch, Apple’s non-phone portable media device, just so I could play some the games. Hell, we’regiving awaySpore Origins, and Konami just announced anewMetal Gearfor Apple’s platform. Now today, Warner Bros....

DSiPodLite; innovative yet useless synaesthesia

DSFanboy (the shining counterpoint to it’s execrable PSPFanboy sister-site) hada storyup today about the above bit of homebrew genius. It seems that some clever hackers from the Netherlands decided that if Apple and Nintendo weren’t going to jump into bed together, they’d have to metaphorically force the unholy union. After hours of toil and a couple tabs of Rohypnol, you have the DSiPodLite. Not only is the sensation of the click wheel replicated via stylus and audio, but the wheel scrolls through selections at the same rate as an actual iPod!...

E3 09: Monado: Beginning of the World rocks the Wii out

Well, what do you know!Monado: The Beginning of the Worldis an action RPG for the Wii, with a solidly Japanese aesthetic and pretty cool visuals. We don’t exactly know too much that’s going on with this one, but it looks like it’s a game from theKingdom Heartsschool of action slashing fun. While I’m not exactly the biggest fan of games that place you in the role of some doe-eyed teenage boy who discovers the “power within” to overcome the overwhelming authoritarian, I’m fairly impressed with the general art style of the game....

E3 09: Sony drops price of PSP dev tools by 80%

In this morning’s Sony press conference here at E3 2009, a lot of the excitement surrounded theannouncement of the PSP Goand its design and online features and capabilities, but an interesting change on the developer side of things was mentioned Kaz Hirai’s presentation. With the new 16GB of built in flash memory and downloadable games library, it seems that Sony is going for something similar to the Apple App Store. But, to compare, they’ll need a lot more titles for consumers to download....

E3 10: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

We knew we were going to see the new Legend of Zelda at this year’s E3 Nintendo press conference, but we weren’t sure how long they’d tease us with it. Luckily, it was the first thing we saw when they opened the show — nice job not teasing for long there, Nintendo! — and we finally got a title:The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Why the focus on Sword in the title?...

E3 10: THQ announces motion-controlled UFC Trainer

Apparently, sales ofUFC Undisputed 2010havefallen shortof THQ’s expectations, but the publisher is working on a new entry in the franchise anyway. In an E3 analysts meeting held yesterday, THQ announcedUFC Trainer, which is, according toGameSpot, “a more combative take on the fitness genre than the likes ofWii FitorEA Sports Active.” Apparently, the game will actually train you to be a mixed martial arts fighter, and it’s going to use motion control tech — PlayStation Move, Kinect, and, uh, the Wii — to do it....

Everything is Terrible pays tribute to 90’s gaming

It was Jon Carnage who first introduced me to the the genius of Everything is Terrible. “No hamburgers, no pizza, no movies, no television” is uttered by someone here at Dtoid HQ at least once a day. That’s just one example of how the EiT brand of tribute/mockery can get under your skin. I wonder if anything from this video will also become a household catch phrase? There is a lot here to choose from....

Failsauce in effect: Okami strategy guide suffers the same fate as Wii cover

Uh, Capcom design people? We know you were probably in a rush to getOkamiout, and it’s a port, so maybe you think the majority of the game’s inital sales have already come and gone, and you guys are really busy over there, and things get stressful when your girlfriends find out about you wearing their panties on Thursday afternoons for that “thing” you do with the guys, but seriously, could you focus for a second and stop leaving the IGN logo all over my game and related merchandise, please?...

Fallout 3 ‘Operation: Anchorage’ DLC is out, here’s a trailer to prove it

AntAngonizer needed to be shown that her actions in the Capital Wasteland were too disruptive. I bought a bunch of new gear from Crow before starting on the short trek to her “hideout.” Metal Armor serves a man much better than that Combat garbage. As I approached the doorway to her lair, my play was interrupted by an odd radio frequency. It was a mercenary signal for help. My curiosity was piqued — mainly because I just paid 800 Microsoft points for theFallout 3‘Operation: Anchorage’ content — so I reversed my position and made for the Merc Outpost to get to the bottom of their dilemma....
