As someone who values their brain, I am terrified of Alzheimer’s disease. However, I’ll be sleeping easier at night from now on, knowing that Pac-Man ison the case. A new enzyme is being developed that supposedly eats amyloid proteins by “opening and closing,” breaking down a close link to the disease in very much the same was as everyone’s favorite yellow glutton. The Pac-Man Enzyme, as it has been dubbed by researchers at Florida’s Mayo Clinic, is only in very early stages....

Ghostlight confirms that the Atlus PSP title will be coming to Europe. Ghostlight tells Destructoid that they’re aiming to match the US release date. No promises, though. The premise is as simple as it is ludicrous: you’re an angry mountain man who decides to vent his anger by crushing an otherwise-quiet hillside village with boulders. The boulders control sort of like Pachinko balls, except you can adjust their trajectory from time to time....

Sony Santa Monica and Incognito releasedWarhawk, a fast vehicle/dogfight multiplayer third-person shooter for the PS3, back in 2007. Since then there has been a goal to build on this popular game and do something special with the multiplayer genre. This sequel,Starhawk, is their attempt at this. The idea behindStarhawkwas to keep the same style of gameplay asWarhawk, but stick it in a new universe, and then add in a much deeper multiplayer functionality....

Here’s a little something we missed during the hectic week that was E3; a trailer for id Software’s upcoming browser-based first-person shooter,Quake Live, viewable after the jump. Promising exciting features like “non-stop action” and being accessible on “one website” certainly got me all hot and bothered, but you’ll probably be more interested in the fact that the game will be free. It won’treallybe free, though, as there will be plenty of ads plastered around the 30 plus arenas....

Nexon’s next entry to the world of MMORPGs isDragon Nest, a game that will appeal to casual and hardcore gamers alike. According to Nexon, the thing that makesDragon Nestunique is that the action RPG features a third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective so it’ll bring players really close to the action. The up to four-player game will feature four character classes: warrior, archer, cleric and sorceress. I ran through the dungeon “Catacombs” as the sorceress and made use of nearly a dozen magic spells to back up my party....

We’re honing in onRed Faction: Armageddon‘s May 31 release for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. I’m certainly getting antsy with anticipation for someRed Faction-brand destruction and explosions. Nothing too major to report on, but THQ has listed the pre-order incentives for the game. GameStop is handing out codes forRed Faction Battlegrounds(XBLA or PSN), and the Commando Pack — the Plasma Thrower, dual Laser Pistols, and the armored Commando uniform....
