Being a space wizard in the originalMass Effectrequired patience and a knack for navigating radial menus. Not to discount the power, of course. In the end, we just found that space soldering gave us the most redeeming combat experience. But it looks like Bioware has stepped up the Adept inMass Effect 2, making us excited to give the class another look this January. For example, and as explained in the latest trailer above, the Adept can now curve his pulls, enabling him to grab enemies from behind cover....

We just got a press release forMass: We Prayearlier today from Paryer Works Interactive and it’s so ridiculous that we doubt that this is a real thing. Seriously, just look at theWeb siteor watch the video above. It feels like something College Humor or Adult Swim would do. Cross-shaped controllers, Holy Water sprinkling mini-game, pressure-sensitive kneeling pads — just wow. Bravo to the people behind this fake. And in the off chance that this is real …Jesus Christ, seriously!...

Alright, I’m not going to lie — I really like seeing people take their own spin on characters or artwork. For example, while not exactly abronymyself, I spent way longer than any grown man should browsing theMy Little Ponyvideo game crossovers. Naturally, when I heard that someone took 375 video game characters and gave them theMega Mantreatment, I was intrigued. I did not, however, guess that I would spend a full hour pouring through all of them to see how many I could name (about 340, by the way) and which ones were missing....

I say looks pretty good because I haven’t watchedMetal Gear Solid Philanthropyyet. This fan made movie is 70 minutes long and I’m feeling way too A.D.D. to focus on one thing at the moment.Topless Robotwatched some of it at least and says that the CG work is excellent, it has a decent plot and the Solid Snake actor is pretty good. There’s been a sudden surge in fan made stuff like this....

Metro 2033is high on my “list of games I need to remember not to forget in 2010.” I know it’s going to keep slipping off my radar, and that’s a shame, because it looks really quite cool. The rather morbid atmosphere and premise is complimented by some pretty swish visuals, as this trailer demonstrates. The above video gives you a bit more of an idea of whatMetro 2033is all about. Has shades of bothFalloutandCryostasisto it, which is a pretty good pair of shades to have....

During the keynote speech at Microsoft’s UK Gamesfest, Xbox Europe’s Vice President of strategic marking David Gosen revealed his belief that videogame digital distribution will become a bigger seller than physical media. There’s no question digital will overtake physical. It happened in music and will happen to our industry. Gosen’s belief comes from his analysis of the rate consumers are actively choosing to download content for games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero....

The meh men out there were quick to discount Kinect’s tracking after they got their hands on (off?) Microsoft’s motion sensing technology, saying that on screen it lagged behind your real world motions. Of course, Microsoft wants you to know that their tracking is tight and fast, and not laggy. Kinect frontman Kudo Tsunoda toldXbox360Achievementsthat it’s actually as fast as hitting a button on a controller: “We’ve done tests back at the office where we have a TV, flash a light on the screen and we’ll have a controller, and have someone there hitting a button, and someone with Kinect clapping as soon as they see the light on the screen, and both things go just as fast as one another....

Naughty Dog’s Richard Lemarchand sees big changes on the horizon for the PlayStation Network that will vault the service over Microsoft’s Xbox Live. In an interview withIGN, Lemarchand said, “there’s going to be other things coming down the pipe that’s going to give PSN as a whole a competitive advantage.” Chances are, he wasn’t referring to thelatest update to the PS3 firmware. When pressed to explain what the big changes will be, Lemarchand hinted that it would revolve around connectivity outside of downloading games and showing off Trophies....

Infinity Ward revealed that dedicated servers wouldnot be a partofModern Warfare 2on PC, opting instead for console-like matchmaking. Thanks toFamitsu, we can now clap eyes on another brand newStreet Fighter IVcharacter. This guy is a Lucha Libre wrestler known as El Fuerte. That’s about all we know for now, but enjoy the picture. He looks pretty cool, certainly not as generic as the last new guy that had been revealed. Reminds me of Rey Mysterio, like all Luchadores. Because of the mask, not because of Mexican racism. As cool as he looks though, there’s a certain fellow with a mask who I am impatiently tapping my foot for....

This is a fun thing. ImagineSuper Mario Worldrunning in 768p on your iPad. Of course, you’ll have to jailbreak both your iPhone and iPad. But hooking up ZodTTD’s iPhone Super Nintendo emulator and the ControlPad app for iPhone you can have this fancy Mac-lover’s portable SNES. Very cool stuff. In the video you’ll see the cool user interface and menus — I like how you see the cartridge go into the slot when you select a ROM....
