How f’ing metal is Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time?

All week long, we’ve been asking developers to tell us (in their own words, and in any way they see fit) just how “metal” their upcoming games are. It is, after all, Rocktober. We started the week withBioWare andDragon Age, followed by Gearbox’s lengthy response onBorderlands. Today, we bring you the response we received from Insomniac Games when we asked “Just how ‘metal’ isRatchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time?...

Is this trailer for ArmA II supposed to impress me?

Perhaps you guys can help me out here. I’ve watched this trailer about half a dozen times now and I’m still at a loss to understand what’s so damn wonderful about the “Real Virtuality” engine powering this game. I’ll concede that the character models move pretty well in most situations, which counts for something. Maybe it’s the low resolution at which the video was sent but this just doesn’t strike me as awe-inspiring....

Label yourself a permadork for life: Wii cufflinks

Per the words of our own resident tipsterJonathan Ross, these Wii cufflinkshover somewhere between awesome and ridiculous. Awesome because if you’re a raving Wii fan, you’re able to show it off mack daddy style with silver cufflinks in the shape of the infamous Wiimote. The ridiculous part of the equation comes at the part where you actually reach for your wallet and realize these little guys will set you back $150. Whoa, people!...

Latest L.A. Noire trailer overviews in-game mechanics

Unsure aboutL.A. Noirein any way, shape, or form? Watch this! It’s a lengthy trailer that runs down, well, what Team Bondi’s open-world game is actually like, outside of its character’s facial expressions. The bits and pieces of footageshown so farhaven’t been terribly revealing, but that ends here. Personally, I was afraidL.A. Noirewould be entirely shootouts and mindless action sequences; based on this video, there will be a fair amount of case solving, interrogating, and other detective duties....

Lil Jon on Def Jam ICON; the A-T-L represents, apparently …

Ryan Stevens, one of our favorite tippers, and the whitest guy since Kip Winger, took time out from his busy schedule of listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd, and ironically commenting on knee-high leg warmers, to send in the above clip. It’s of Ryan (full of himself, ain’t he?) interviewing Lil’ Jon, a “crunk” rapper, more well known as a character on a television show that no longer exists, than for his musical talents....

Look at this Prey 2 screenshot, because it’s the only one

Bethesda has posted new media forPrey 2on its blog, and th–wait a minute. It’s only a single screenshot. And, I guess there’s a piece of concept art as well. Worst of all, it’s enough to warrant me writing this very post you are now likely growing agitated over. The concept art of what appears to be a futuristic cityscape is more interesting to me. The screenshot has an alien in a spiffy suit, which tells mePrey 2is going to be quite the departure fromPrey 1....

Machinarium and Super Motherload are coming to WiiWare

XGen Studios is collaborating withMachinariumcreator Amanita Design to bring its robot-starring adventure hit to WiiWare. Point-and-click adventure titles on the Wii? Sounds like a plan. In fact, I can seeMachinariumdoing quite well for itself. Super Motherload, a follow-up to a flash game I hadn’t heard of until a few moments ago, is also in XGen’s pipeline as a WiiWare release. From what I’ve seen of the current version — as well as the provided screenshot forSuper Motherload— I’m listening....
