Titmouse want Seven Haunted Seas on Wii, also 360

We still don’t know much about Titmouse Games’Seven Haunted Seas. As I wrotein a previous post, we only know a few basic things about the title: it’s an RPG, it is slated for consoles, and it has zombies. That’s some pretty general stuff. Inour recent interview with members of the studio, creative director Aaron Habibipour gave us a decent indication as to what consoles Titmouse is shooting for with title. (Psst: It’s the Wii and Xbox 360....

Uh, yes please! Gearbox trademarks ‘Z-Day’

With a few unannounced projects kicking around over at Gearbox Software, it’s nearly impossible not to wonder what’s next from the studio who most recently brought us the much-lovedBorderlands. Based on a recent trademark, it’s looking as if something calledZ-Dayis one of the mystery products. Assuming the “z” isn’t short for, oh, “zooplankton” or some such weirdness, I think it’s a relatively safe betZ-Dayis going to be about zombies. Although, a game about the constant fear of being eaten as a microscopic organism could be pretty rad too....

As the we comb through the news coming out of the Fall 2007 Nintendo Conference in Japan, we seem to hearing aboutmore goodiesas the day goes on, and the latest bit we’ve found brings some details of an upcoming DS demo download service for the Wii. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that the Japanese will soon have the ability to grab DS game demos from their Nintendo Wii. Before this, DS owners would have to seek out a DS download station to get demos, and those demos would disappear after the system was shut down....

Valve briefly talks about its old submarine game

On an episode of the Steamcast, Valve co-founder Gabe Newell got into talking about some of the company’s older, unreleased titles. Did you know that in the early days, there was going to be a sub game? “Even further back thanProspero, the other game that Mike [Harrington] and I were talking about before we’d even had anybody other than us working on it was a submarine game.” “Mike was absolutely certain there was an opportunity to create fantastic underwater visuals and gameplay, so if people want to know the even furtherest back thing we have haven’t gotten around to shipping yet it would have to be the unnamed submarine game,” reveals Newell....

What is Trine? Let’s find out, shall we?

A bunch of new assets are up for a PSN/PC game that I’ve never heard of,Trine. I must have obviously overslept on the day this was announced, because it looks incredibly gorgeous, and the focus on physics-based platforming action sounds like it could be a great little title. Anew Web site forTrineopened up today, and developer Nobilis Group has released a number of screenshots. I’m definitely interested, and hope to see more very soon....

Wii RPG Arc Rise Fantasia being considered for NA release

When I get a new console, I go through this thing where I’m in a kind of limbo until I get to play a solid, classic RPG on it. For me, my console relationship hasn’t been consummated until then. Gross, I know. But my Wii and Istillaren’t seeing eye to eye yet (wow, that’s worse), and I think it’s because we haven’t shared a special traditional RPG together. I sawBrad’s news of upcoming Japanese RPGArc Rise Fantasiaas a sort of potential counseling session for us, but I lost hope when I saw that it was a Japan-only release....

Yahoo! and Square Enix make a browser game

Square Enix and Yahoo! have joined forces to make…a free-to-play browser-based game calledSengoku IXA. Great. I’m digging that it’s based in Japan’s Sengoku era, and that its a strategy game, but those are two things that will send the rest of you running the other direction. In this game you build an army and team up with other players to work to expand one of 12 territories. Battles take three real-world days via either automated or — for the crazies — manual control....
