PlayStation Vita to launch on October 28?

An ad from Blockbuster in the UK says that both Vita models for European release on Friday, October 28th. That’swaaaaybefore the rumored early 2012 date. Was Sony trying to pull a fast one on us, or is this Blockbuster ad fake? you may see a copy of the ad that we nabbed fromIGN UKin our gallery. It looks legit. They hit up Sony for a comment and only got back that we would see a “phased global release” this holiday season....

Preview: Dante’s Inferno

Look,I don’t carethatDante’s Infernois based onThe Divine Comedy. Nor do I care that literary nerds are getting their panties in a bunch over what Electronic Arts is doing here. It’s a videogame, and I play games to have fun. And fun is what I had when I playedDante’s Infernoat EA’s Spring Break event earlier in the month. My hands-on time was short and it wasn’t in an ideal situation (the event was packed with press in a small space with loud music blaring), but I did enjoy my small taste of Hell....

PS3s being used to nab pedophiles

I guess the PS3 reallydoesdo everything. Not content to be a game device, a Blu-ray player, and everything else Sony markets it as, the PlayStation 3 is also a handytool used by policeto crack into the computers of suspected pedophiles and hang their kiddy-porn-loving arses out to dry. Cops traditionally have used $1,100 Dell PCs in order to crack the passwords of computers they seize under a search warrant. The computers would be used to run through the near 282 trillion possible six-digit security codes available and crack into the PCs of pedophiles like they were delicious snow crabs....

RE5 isn’t racist because Capcom has black friends

When N’gai Croal criticized Capcom’s artistic decisions inResident Evil 5, he boldly claimed that “nobody black worked on this game,” a suggestion I found to be a little presumptuous and just a little bit prejudiced in its own right — something I brought up when he and I argued the matter. My instinct was right, it seems, asCapcom has revealed thatyes, black peopledidindeed work onResident Evil 5. “There are black members in the development team....

Resident Evil 5 hitting PC this September in glorious 3D

It sure is nice to see Capcom supporting PC properly, isn’t it? Coming to store shelves on September 15 for North America and September 18 for Europe is none other than the PC version ofResident Evil 5. Besides being the all-around fun action (and “horror”) game that it is, this updated version has a few new additions. For starters, there are new costumes, although Capcom isn’t revealing any specifics, and Mercenaries mode now has three times as many enemies as console players ever saw....

Rumor: Harmonix working on dancing game for Natal

Rock Band 3‘s already been confirmed as Harmonix’s next project, but is it the only one? Probably not, and ifGame Informer‘s sources are correct, the developer may also be working on a Natal-based dancing game. True or not, you don’t need to like the idea, but it might be the best move for the developer. I can’t explain the worldwide popularity of Ubisoft’sJust Dance, but its success has proven one thing: people want to dance....
