Command & Conquer 4 devs discuss gameplay

There is a lot going on in the above dev diary for the upcomingCommand & Conquer 4. The short video takes you through most of the new changes in the game and talks about what they were trying to do this time around with the franchise. I find the class structure interesting and possibly a good way to gain replayability, but I’m not sold on it really being an actual change to the game....

Competitive online gaming still hasn’t crawled out of the MUD

Modern competitive online multiplayer gaming is in many significant ways unrecognizable, when compared to its ancestors. In the 30+ years since the pre-internet days of its infancy, it has changed so dramatically that it almost seems quaint to put games from the two eras in the same category. At first glance, it’s no different from going to a science museum and seeing a giant vacuum tube side by side with a transistor and an integrated circuit....

Cool rare gaming crap: Mega Jet, Sega SGX, SFII talking bank

I’ve always wanted a Sega Mega Jet, though I could never tell you why. It’s just a unwieldy controller with a Genesis/Mega Drive built in. It’s got a d-pad, six buttons, and a cartridge hole in the top. But no screen. You’ll have to connect it to your television…just like your Genesis, but with a worse controller. Or call it a Sega Nomad without the screen and dogsh*t battery life. Wow, I just kind of talked myself out of it....

Demon’s Souls trailer kicks ass, eats your soul

“Kicks ass” works in two ways here. First off, great trailer, Atlus. It really gets you pumped for the game. But it also kicksyourass, and reminds you how much the game kicks your ass. I haven’t had a lot of time to spend with my review copy due to travel, but the time I have had has been great. There’s not really anything else like this action RPG out on the PS3....
