I felt like such anoobtoday. I thought I had seen everything there ever was when it comes to video games. I have always proudly proclaimed that I have had every single video game system cross my hands at one point or another (not including all of those ridiculous amount ofGame & Watch games). Today though, I was slapped across the face with reality. Kinda like how a pimp slaps his ho for holding out on him....

Beyond Good & Evil One of the most important ingredients of a superb video game is good characters. Think back to all the classics you have played over the years; one thing they most likely have in common is a strong cast, headlined by an even stronger main character. If you are going to dedicate multiple hours playing one game, the characters better be strong, right? But it takes a lot more for a video game to be memorable than just interesting character choices alone....

Wealready got wordthat Robin would be made available at Best Buy as a pre-order incentive forBatman: Arkham City. Now Warner Bros. has confirmed it, along with an image and some fresh details. Robin — the Tim Drake version — will be a playable character in the challenge mode of the upcoming game. Warner says that he’ll come with his own special gadgets and moves, playable on all challenge maps, as well as two new ones included with the character: Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape....

In this remarkably adorable video, Double Fine’s Tim Schafer pitches a videogame to Cookie Monster. A few things in particular made me feel all warm and fuzzy: Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster, everybody! Can’t wait to buy this game for my “son.”

The control scheme of the Wii lends itself perfectly to playing sports where you’re swinging a stick of some kind, so in March, Ubisoft released on the Wii a five-sport collection entitledRacquet Sportsto middling reviews. (You know Ubisoft is a French publisher, since they spelled it as “racquet” instead of “racket.”) They’re hoping for a better outing with the PlayStation 3 version of the game, which will launch this fall with PlayStation Move compatibility....
