Ubisoft has announced that they’ll be taking ten dollars off the price of theSplinter Cell: Convictionspecial edition package in North America, bringing its price down from $80 to $70. Square Enix doesn’t want it, and guess what, neither do most of us, if not all. FromCubedviaGameLife: Square Enix vice president Hiromichi Tanaka talked to Euro website Cubed3, and in a (highly paraphrased) transcript of the chat, he revealed that although there are no plans to bring Final Fantasy XI Online (above) to the Wii, they are working on trying to get Nintendo to ease up on the whole stupid Friend Codes thing....

Steel chairs are the new black: TNA Impact! fan interaction/game premiere event

Earlier this afternoon, Gwinett Technical College’s George Busbee International Center for Workforce Development was transformed. Perhaps if Busbee — a former Georgia senator — were alive today, he would beam with pride as eager wrestling filed into one of the building’s medium sized rooms, many of them carrying their own steel folding chairs. The occasion was the “TNA Bound for Glory Fan Interaction” event, a chance to meet their favorite wrestling personalities (and get your steel chair autographed), chat with fellow fanatics, and purchase TNA merchandise....

The Question: Should price be a factor in reviews?

[Every Friday, Destructoid will pose topical a question to the community. Answer it if you want!] This is a debate that’s often sparked among game reviewers, because people seem to have such strong opinions on either side of the matter. Should the price of a game be factored into a review? Do lower prices come with lower expectations? Are expensive games held to a higher standard? Those against the price factor argue that it dates a review — prices constantly change, so a review that mentions cost will become obsolete in a few weeks....

The Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive has some sick moves

This commercial does a pretty good job of entertaining the viewer. The guy that thought to make HD-DVD and DVD players have a dance off should receive a promotion.
