The Last Remnant launch trailer focuses on caucasian blondes

Back when The Last Remnant was new and mysterious, there was a lot of talk about how the game was developed with universal appeal. There was your typical Japanese RPG-looking hero, but there was also muscular gruff badasses to appeal to the meatheaded Americans. Silly, huh?I find it funny that this GameTrailers-exclusive trailer forThe Last Remnant— which is obviously also an Xbox 360 commercial — only really highlights the white dudes and gals....

The Memory Card .31: The end of The End

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Boss battles are awesome. Wait, no, let me correct that.Someboss battles are awesome. Others tend to be lazy, hack-and-slash fests that don’t offer the exciting, creative confrontations gamers are salivating for as they make their way through a tough level. Boss battles should be the ultimate in satisfying rewards, right? Lucky for us, there have been numerous boss fights over the years that are highly memorable, some even elevating themselves from merely “satisfying” to downright revolutionary....

The Podcastle debut recording tonight: European-flavored podcast hits Dtoid soon

When my great aunt babbage died, she left me an ancient medieval castle in her will. As an Englishman, I already had a castle, but this one was bigger and also had a podcast recording studio in it. With that flimsy premise in mind, I invited beloved community member Atheistium and despised community orc Wardrox to my new abode, that we might record European podcasts for Destructoid. The Podcastle will be a little different from your weekly shot ofRetroforce GO!...

This new Demigod video is a convincing argument for me to buy a gaming PC

This, email, and Twitter are about all its good for. That’s one of the reasons we brought Jonathan Ross on board as our dedicated PC games writer. Jonathan’s playingDemigodthis week for a preview which should run this Friday, and after seeing the above video, I’m crazy jealous....

Two hi-res Duke Nukem Forever screenshots

The problem I have with theDuke Nukemfranchise is that my interest levels started low and went downhill from there. This is why I didn’t know that you could unlock two screenshots forDuke Nukem Foreverby playing the XBLA version ofDuke Nukem 3D. I was going to review3Dfor the site but I got halfway through the first chapter and questioned what I was doing, so I stopped. These two screens are everything you would expect fromDuke Nukem: Ugly aliens, stripppers and a sense of apathy....

Ubisoft lied about DRM servers, admits they were attacked

Yesterday, Ubisoft claimed that its controversial (and f*cking retarded) DRM servers were down due to what it called “exceptional demand.” Not only was that comment insulting to anybody with a brain, it’s also been revealed as a bare-faced lie. Ubisoft has since commented that the DRM servers were attacked. “Apologies to anyone who couldn’t playACIIorSH5yesterday,” explains thepublisher’s Twitter, clearly having not yet received the PR memo. “Servers were attacked which limited service from 2:30pm to 9pm Paris time....

Update: Mass Effect 2 DLC delay resolved

Sad news forMass Effect 2fans (which should be everybody) — EA has announced that the upcoming DLC, Kasumi’s Stolen Memory, has been slightly delayed on both 360 and PC.
