The ‘latest’Playstation: The Official Magazinehas project lead Yosuke Hayashi spilling some details onNinja Gaiden III— the first newNinja Gaidensans Itagaki. Supposedly, the focus will be on Ryu Hayabusa as a “dark Japanese hero” and “there won’t be new playable characters, but we’ll focus more deeply on Ryu Hyabusa’s life and lifestyle and feelings and thoughts.” A darker hero soundsfamiliar, and it makes perfect sense because after all, theNinja Gaidenseries is world-renowned for making the player care for its protagonist’s feelings and lifestyle — shown in the lastteaser trailer....

 I remember someone telling me to tryÂFinal Fantasy Mystic Quest when I was younger. They knew that I was into RPGs and liked Final Fantasy, so they thought it was a good recommendation. I suppose it was, but at the time I wasn’t feeling it. It wasn’t until later, when I revisited that Super Nintendo cart, that I appreciated how simple and fun this game was. It’s been awhile, but now I can revisit this game via the Virtual Console release....

I used to make collages back in high school. I liked reading tortured french poets, so I decided to do a montage to one using pages from the bible as my medium. I wish I still had it so I could look back and laugh at my teenage melancholy. I would have been emo then, except it didn’t exist yet (thankfully.) This gentleman’s collages are way cooler that the fruits of tortured youth — by using pages from Nintendo Power, he creates game-themed collages that would dress up your gaming room quite nicely....

EA dropped the fifth in a series ofMedal of Honortrailers showing available game modes and maps into our inbox tonight. This go around we’re shown the “Objective Raid” multiplayer mode in the “Kandahar Market” map. In the mode, attackers must seek out and destroy objectives while the defending team… defends against them. Sorry. I guess that last bit should have been obvious. Also, note that there will be a beta forMedal of Honorstarting October 4th....

SCEA’s first original PlayStation Network reality show,The Tester, will soon be unleashed upon the world. Well, they haven’t given any exact dates yet, but with the casting call closed and the contestants chosen, it’ll presumably be kicking off relatively soon. The PEGI vs. BBFC clash hasfinally come to an end, with the European videogame rating board beating out the British Board of Film Classification to become the UK’s sole game classifier. The BBFC was originally favored by the government, but PEGI was prefered by the games industry. Despite the bravado on both sides, it was looking like the BBFC would be the hot favorite, so this news is actually quite a shocker....

You may have heard thatUnreal Tournament III was getting a major expansion. This massive bomb of new game play, maps and features is now in the works to be released, and it’s called theTitan Pack. THQ’sDarksidersis a game I’ve been keeping an eye on ever since it was announced way back at E3 2007. It’s been repeatedly delayed; the game is now set for release on Jun 14, 2025 (how very cheeky of you, THQ). But I recently got some hands-on time with the comic book-styled action-adventure game, and from the time I spent with it, I gathered that the full product may very well be,as Jim hoped,ridiculously awesome....

Awhile back, Microsoft gave me the opportunity to update my retail Xbox 360 to the “New Xbox Experience,” a new operating system that changes the look and feel of what was formerly known as the “Dashboard.” I had seen it in action at the Tokyo Game Show, when Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg gave me a personal walkthrough of the update. It looked pretty and certainly functional, and while Greenberg talked it up all nice, I wasn’t entirely sold that it wasbetter....

Who’s this little guy? Why, this is King, one of the characters from Halfbrick’s upcoming XBLA gameRaskulls. The game’s main character has taken the day off from kinging to appear as a rather adorable little figure, and Destructoid is the lucky outlet to get its hands on the little blighter. This particularRaskullsfigure is one of a handful of early models, but Halfbrick tells me that plans are in place to create a newer and more readily available version in future....
