Red Faction’s ‘Ruin’ mode revealed, playable at PAX

For those fortunate enough to be attending PAX East in Boston this week, THQ has a little treat: playableRed Faction: Armageddon, along with a new mode called “Ruin.” This score-based mode is all about breaking crap, much as you’d expect from aRed Factiontitle. The mode starts with players choosing weapons and then entering an arena where stuff will be broken into tiny bits. Successful chains of explosions will offer up bonus points, which you’ll want to look out for in the game’s “Challenge Mode,” where you’ll compare scores against your friends on the online leaderboards....

This past year hasn’t been so good for Atari. In late 2007, theystopped game productionafter a loss of$11.9 million in one quarter. Ouch.
