With Resistance 2, you’ll be playing more and loading less

As a result of Eurogamer’s liveinterviewwith Insomniac’s Ted Price yesterday, we now know a few more things aboutResistance 2that we didn’t have concrete answers on before. Although he didn’t want to commit to whether or not the game would require yet another mandatory install to your PS3’s hard drive (too early to tell, by his calculations), he did offer up this nice tidbit about the finished product not having any loading screens:...

Wolfenstein movie confirmed alive, Uwe Boll’s ears perk up

I remember a time when men were men, games were games, and movies were movies. Those days are long gone, and I guess there’s no stopping theWolfensteinfilm that’s been in development hell for the past few years. Speaking withEurogamer, id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead has confirmed that the film is still in development. According to Hollenshead, screenwriter Roger Avary is “working on the script right now,” obviously no referring to this very second — Avary could possibly be using the toilet, something which may or may not yield a better result than a film based on the classic first-person shooter....

You got Team Fortress 2 in my Persona 4

You know how every once in a while you see that someone has had an idea that was so simple, so obvious that you are personally angered that you hadn’t had the idea before? This is totally not one of those times for me. I would have never thought to combine the two highly-stylized gamesPersona 4andTeam Fortress 2. Thankfully, Youtube user Nif3 is more creative than I am. They put together this really impressive video using the characters and locales ofTF2in a re-imagined opening sequence forP4....

YTMND Thursday: Do a barrel … OH MY GOD!

My two favorites this week are also the worst ones out of the bunch. The first being theAnimal Crossingis tragic spoof. I cried at the original so it just feels wrong to have laughed at the spoof. The worst of course is the dog doing the barrel roll. I’d like to think that the car wasn’t really moving that fast so the dog is OK. The Internets has made me evil....

3 million kids are ‘pathological gamers’ … apparently

It’s been a while since children were used to make videogames sound terrifying, but luckily the State University of Iowa has delivered, with a studymaking the claimthat 8.5% of American children are “pathological gamers.” The use of pathological is important, because it makes them sound like serial killers, which is great for whipping idiot parents up into a frenzy. Although the study only surveyed 1,178 youths,The Washington Posthas suggests from the evidence that three million children are now playing videogames by compulsion, helping to make the results sound evenmorefrightening....

You know what game surprisingly ruled?Assault Heroeson Xbox LIVE Arcade. So we need a sequel, and we need it now, I’d say.
