This video is a year old, which means it’s positively ancient. But I hadn’t seen it, which led me to believe that there may be others who have not seen it. By that, I mean others who are interested inEarthboundand might appreciate a 3D rendering of the town of Onett. The video, created by Benn Friedrich, is pretty amazing. It brings the town of Onett alive in a big way and, at the same time, reminds me of the lamentable fact that we’ll likely never see anything like this crop up on a Wii....

I wish I could say “I told you so”, but I didn’t write the post. I guessWedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter feels that 2009 is critical to Sony. I’m not necessarily with him on that, though. Is being in last place really that dire of a situation? He tellsCVGthat Sony “is falling behind at a rapid pace,” stating that a price cut is needed. No argument there. “The most important thing for the company to do is to get the PS3 production cost down, and it appears to be making progress on that front,” said the analyst....

We told you about how well Sony is doing this morning, but did so without number data. It’s not that we didn’t believe Sony, but we like being on the same page. The numbers for the PlayStation Move controller are very strong already. Andrew House, Sony’s head in Europe, says that about 1.5 milllion Move controllers have been sold already. Well,Choplifteris getting a retro revivalthanks to inXile Entertainment. Nintendo of America’s beefburger boss, Reggie Fils-Aime, has declared that if you have a Wii, you don’t really have any motivation to drop another few hundred bucks on a PS3 with PlayStation Move. Doesn’t sound like Nintendo’s threatened at all by the Sony Wiimote. “So I’m a consumer and I’m having a great experience with my Wii,” declares Reggie. “And we know that’s the case – we look at the software that’s being purchased....

Capcom has reduced the price of its iPhone title,Resident Evil 4: Platinum Editionto 99c, or 59p for the Brits! I’ve wanted to play this game but was waiting for a price drop like this because I am a cheap, stingy, mean bastard. Now I’ve got what I wanted, so I’m downloading it as I type this. Victory for Capcom!...
