Marvelous Entertainment has revealed its newest 3DS game in the pages of Famitsu magazine. It’s calledKagura: Portrait of Girls, a side-scrolling action game starring five kunoichi who lose articles of clothing upon incurring damage. If this sounds similar to the company’sIkki Tousengames, that’s becauseKagura‘s director, Kenichiro Takaki, was in charge of those as well. I can already hear Jonathan Holmes getting nervous, but rest easy, my friend!Kaguradoesn’t appear to be the 2D title that Marvelous washintingat a while ago....

Kotaku, by way ofGames Radarhas a snippet from the latest issue of EDGE magazine (the European answer to American gaming print journalism), in which Hideo Kojima, developer of the Metal Gear series, andclose, personal friend of mine, goes into great detail about his ideas for a game centered on undead hordes; aka zombies. Here’s a quote: “The zombie idea I have is a bit different,” Kojima told Edge magazine during an interview published in this month’s issue, explaining that he’s “less interested in the idea of the living dead than the fact you can turn people just by biting them”....

Kuju Entertainment has announced a new studio, doublesix, which is said to focus on downloadable format videogames — Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, WiiWare, and PC. Built around the Kuju teams that createdGeometry Wars: Galaxies, doublesix intends to focus on easy to play, hard to put down titles. “Rolling a ‘double six’ is about having another go,” said studio James Brooksby, “and that embodies what we’re about — addictive, fun games that you always want to go back to....

Developer Anna Anthropy is no fan of yours truly, but a good game is a good game and Anthropy’sLesbian Spider Queens of Marsis pretty fun stuff. As with most indie games,Lesbian Spider Queensexploits our love of the retro with decidedly old school arcade visuals and sounds. It wouldn’t look out of place these days on a “100-in-one” TV plug in console. Except, of course, that this game is about a spider queen kidnapping naked slaves....

While Mojang attempts tohold onto the name ofScrolls, fellow indie developer Halfbrick is changing the name of their upcoming iOS gameMachine Gun Jetpack. From now on, the game will be calledJetpack Joyride. As explained in their video, Halfbrick realized that while the machine gun jetpack is still in the game, there are so many other types of jetpacks included that the name was a misnomer. Rainbows, lasers, bubbles, there are a lot more options than just a machine gun jetpack, includingvehicles....

Ubisoft’s Bunny Invasion.com web site has finally revealed its purpose with a new video and a contest. The contest is basically this: Ubisoft wants people to dress up as the bunnies fromRayman Raving Rabbids; the more wacky the costume, the better. Once you make your costume, Ubisoft wants you to either send them a picture of your costume or a video link of it in a video on YouTube.com. The best 3 pictures and the best 3 videos will receive a copy of the game,Rayman Raving Rabbidsand an evil bunny t-shirt....

Man, the PS2 is still going! I was just thinking about getting another PS2 as I still use it. I thought about getting an import one to replace my aging system, but then I saw the prices. Holy crap!
