Gastronaut Studios, the folks most recently behindSmall Arms, have got another game primed for Xbox LIVE Arcade, and it’s coming out next Wednesday. It’s a half puzzle, half action hybrid calledGel: Set & Match(800 Microsoft Points). Having nothing but screenshots to go on, I’m going to try my best to guess how this game plays. It looks as if the thing on the left will slowly try to run you over, so you have to push colored blocks around into similar groups....
The team over at Hothead Games has been working on another game featuring our favoriteSpanker of Death, this one dubbedThe Baconing. New screenshots and character information have been released for the upcoming title, including an introduction to the Nuclear family. Continuing the hilarious tradition of quirky gameplay found in previousDeathSpankgames, the characters revealed so far are decided oddballs. The Nuclear family is as much a name as it is a character descriptor considering that they have glowing green eyes and actually ooze radiation....
The firstValkyria Chronicles, despite being a critical darling and one of the best games on the PlayStation 3 (then and now, really), wasn’t exactly a commercial success. It sold a paltry 30,000 or so units in its early weeks, hampered by its low profile and relatively niche appeal. It staged a strong comeback, though, thanks in part to a well-timed price drop and – according to Sega – “all that evangelical work by hardcore fans“, who got the word out that the sketchy-looking (literally) anime RPG was a game that no one should miss....

SOCOM Confrontationhits stores this week and Sony wants to entice you into buying it with a few gameplay trailers. This first one features some basic multiplayer action, while two additional videos after the jump demonstrate playing “Control” and “Extraction” modes. I have to say, it looks really appealing. Then again, I wouldn’t expect anything less from the series. Brad Nicholsonseemed to have a good timein the beta, with only minor technical issues to gripe about....

Game Informer brought Oderus Urungus and Beefcake the Mighty of GWAR to their offices to see if even intergalactic space barbarians can enjoy controller-free gaming. What results is what one should expect of any enterprise which involves GWAR. The question posed is never satisfactorily answered and GWAR goofs off as a prelude to sex with an inanimate object....
