Billy Mitchell’s tie spotted in new Donkey Kong game

Donkey Kong Country Returnsis filled with little in-jokes and nods to Nintendo history. I thought the inclusion ofMr. Game and Watchwas sure to remain my favorite amongst them all, but I think Billy Mitchell’s tie might be the newKing of(Donkey)Kong(Country Returns) Easter Eggs. Oh f*ck, I’m going to Hell for that last pun. Was that even a pun? God, I’m sorry everybody. But yeah, Billy Mitchell’s signature American flag tie fromThe King of Kongis in stage 3-2 ofDonkey Kong Country Returns....

Blizzard is currently prepping patch 1.1 forStarCraft II, which it hopes to get out around mid-September. Here’s what we can look forward to: more mod features, bug fixes, improvements to the editor and custom games, support for NVIDIA’s 3D Vision, standardized hotkey options, and more. The patch will make “the Standard (US) and Standard for Lefties (US) hotkey options available in all regions.” And then there’s the balancing stuff, which I have to imagine will anger many a vocalStarCraft IIplayer for reasons I cannot fully comprehend....

Brink developer diary details ‘The Last Stand’

In the first of what appears to be a series of upcoming developer diaries, Splash Damage lays out the groundwork for what makes the narrative of its upcoming first-person shooter,Brink, tick. It’s 2045 and ecological unrest forces folks to take refuge on a floating city known as The Ark. Designed as a clean and green living alternative, The Ark was built to house 5,000 people. So I guess it’s a problem that it’s now home to some 50,000 folks, as everyone is running out of not only space to live, but essential day-to-day supplies....

Capcom drops some Resident Evil 5 screens on us, makes us hungry for brains

Hot on the heels of the brand new, longerResident Evil 5trailer, comes some fancy new screenshots, straight from Capcom. Like the trailer, they answer few questions, and do little more than throw us into a tizzy of anticipation. Capcom also tells us that the trailer is now available in HD on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and should soon be available for download on the PlayStation Store (if it’s not already). With the little information we have about this game, now might be the perfect time to start coming up with our own story based on the screens and videos we’ve seen so far....

When it comes toWarhammer 40,000, I’m all about the Orks. A few of the more notable features include: single-player and co-op campaigns (20 missions), a raise in level cap from 20 to 30, more war gear, and new, unspecified additions to multiplayer....
