OFLC lists Left 4 Dead for, uh … the Nintendo DS?

We’re excited aboutLeft 4 Dead, and if we had time, we would play it on both the Xbox 360 and the PC. At the same time, if possible. Also, if the rumored PS3 versions comes to light, we might buy that, too. Just in case something happens to our 360 and PC copies. But how about on the Nintendo DS?Australia’s Office of Film and Literature Classificationis listing a version ofLeft 4 Deadfor Nintendo’s handheld, and if this turns out to be an actual product, our minds are blown....

Oni officially revealed for Super Street Fighter IV: AE

Street Fighterfans have known about Oni for a while now. In fact, Dtoid is one of the few places you can still see some of the initiallyleaked videos of Oni and Evil RyuinSuper Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, as Capcom ripped down most of those vids from Youtube. Maybe they’ll be less harsh about thatOni footagefrom here on out, as the character was officially announced in Japan today. Parliament doesn’t think games that cause seizures are awesome

If you’re anything like me, you’ll spend a few hours of each day rounding children with epilepsy up and sitting them in front of a strobe light until they start to resemble screaming, crying vibrators. The British government, however, doesn’t seem to find epileptic fits quite so amusing and hasput pressure on game developersto screen their games for images and effects that could cause them. Conservative MP John Penrose submitted the motion in Parliament and has been backed by dozens of his fellow slimeballs … um … politicians....

Pew-Pewin’ at the top of the world: EVE Fanfest 2007

I’ve gone on record more than once over my distaste for MMOs, butEVE Onlinehas always been an exception, an asterisk slapped on an otherwise lengthy list of games I’d sooner rip my toenails off than play. Its single-shard, trulypersistentpersistent world is a theater of daily struggle in which command of the assets and locales that make the whole damn thinggoare in constant ebb and flow. The politics are heavy, the alliances necessary, and unlike any other game, what you do inEVEhas an honest impact on the world that surrounds you....

Phalanx coming to WiiWare, banjo accessory not confirmed

I have never playedPhalanx. The SNES/Sharp X68000 computer game was never something I had the pleasure of playing. Beyond the fact that it’s a space shooter I know absolutely nothing about it. Normally in this situation (it happens) I do some research on Wikipedia or another 100 percent reliable internet source and then come out talking like I knew it all along. However, I’m not going to ruin the greatest mystery in gaming just so I can impress you....

Podtoid 143 records tonight, likely about God of War III

We’re gonna try to talk aboutGod of War IIItonight without going heavily into spoiler territory. Shouldn’t be hard given the fact that so very little of the game can actuallybespoiled, but hey — if things get rough, we’ll do a specialspoilertoidepisode later this week. No matter what happens, though, we’ll still need listener questions. Hit the jump and supply them, if you would.

Preview: Jimmie Johnson: Anything with an Engine

Kart racers are perhaps the most immediately shunned genre in all of gaming. Its unpopularity only rivaled by the colossal success of theMario Kartseries. It seems that sinceMario Kart’sinception, everyone else has been copying the template and received tepid results at best. Jimmie Johnson: Anything with an Engineis the latest challenger to the throne. While it certainly copies theMario Kartformula (a comparison the devs do not shy away from), it tweaks the how-to-make-a-kart-racer blueprint to offer people a little something different....
