I think I’ve probably mentioned this before at some point, but I really did not likeMarvel Ultimate Alliance. I adore the co-op brawler genre and have taken great pleasure in theX-Men Legendsseries. Hell, I even likedJustice League. ButMarvel Ultimate Alliancejust seemed to drag on and on, like swimming upstream in a river of mediocrity, right up until the point where it abruptly ended. For twenty bucks, however, I’m willing to give just about anything a second chance....

Yesterday marked the first day of theMI-6 video game marketing conferenceheld at the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco. The niche event was formed by a trade group “designed to support the video game industry’s marketers and related professionals in seizing opportunities and meeting the challenges ahead.” In other words, they’ve sold us the consoles …now what? MI-6’s first session featured three industry middleweights: Midway, Ubisoft, and GameTap, with messaging focused on promoting high-profile title launches, building meaningful connections with gamers, and maximizing revenue beyond initial game launches....

So, the PlayStation 3 will begetting Netflix, and what’s more, it’ll be providing the servicewithoutXbox Live’s obligatory entry price. Sony will have the edge, since customers will only need to pay the $8.99 Netflix fee as opposed to $8.99 plus a Gold membership to Xbox Live. That said, Microsoft doesn’tseem to care, believing that Xbox Live is still a “generation ahead” of the competition. “The Netflix experience on Xbox LIVE is unique and reflects our commitment for social entertainment....

Fresh new DS FPSMoonis a title that hasgrabbed the attentionof a few Destructoid staff members, if only for the rather cool sounding music. There’s something undeniably retro about the tunes presented inMoon‘s trailers, but they still sound pretty original. It’s also looking quite smart for a DS title. I usually can’t be bothered with 3D graphics in a DS game, but I’m likingMoon‘s visuals so far. Hopefully the controls are as good as the looks, but we’ll have to wait on that....

Starting this month, Hudson will gleefully begin pumping out TurboGrafx-16 games for the North American PlayStation Store. They’ll be offered as individual downloads for PlayStation 3 and PSP should you feel the need to relive the ’90s. If this announcement sounds at all familiar, you’re probably thinking back to when Hudson told us these titles were hitting the PlayStation Store in Europe. One small victory at a time, gents. And yes,Castlevania: Rondo of BloodandBlazing Lazers— make it happen!...

This trailer begins by giving you a run down of many of the characters that will appear inDissidia, and let me tell you, if you’re a Final Fantasy fan and this doesn’t get your panties damp, you’re either blind or in a coma. I mean, look at this list: Squall, Zidus, Zidane, Jecht, Ultimecia, Cecil, Golbez, Terra, Sephiroth, Butz, Exdeath, Kefka, Cloud …The only two favorites of mine that didn’t make the cut seem to be Edea and Lulu, but I guess it’d be tough for them to fight in those long dresses they wear....

The Tecmo/Koei merger hasfinally resultedin the inevitable crossover betweenNinja GaidenandDynasty Warriors, with Ryu Hayabusa slated to appear as an unlockable character in the PS3 version ofDynasty Warriors: Strikeforce. Tecmo will be returning the favor by allowing for unlockable Zhao Yun and Sun Shang Xiang costumes inNinja Gaiden Sigma 2. Currently, only the PS3 will be enjoying the crossover chicanery, with the Xbox 360 version ofStrikeforcegetting Nu Wa fromWarriors Orochi 2instead of Ryu....

Don’t tell me you didn’t see this one coming. As was the case forNinja Gaiden, so too willNinja Gaiden 2make it to the PlayStation 3, this time in the form ofNinja Gaiden Sigma 2. This grand news comes to us by way of the latest issue ofFamitsu. With GDC right around the corner, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t hear more about the revamped game in the very near future....
